  1. About 2100 for me.

I wonder if you get to play as the Zerg at all in the Wings of Liberty campaign. I researched that mind control defensive building, only to find out it doesn't allow you to mind control drones.

  2. So, after all of my complaints about Battle.net, of course I ended up buying the game after all :-)

My computer is pretty much exactly on the minimum system requirements, but the game still looks pretty good and runs really well. The load times are annoying, but I guess it can't be helped.

Having a very good time with the campaign so far. I tried an online game in the practice league and got creamed, so I'm not sure I'm ready for online multiplayer. I was never very good at multiplayer in strategy games anyway. I'm probably gonna finish the campaign, and play some co-op matches vs AI with my RL friends, before I try again (if at all).

But hey, if anyone wants to add me: character name is Tinus, character code is 555. I'm in Europe.

  3. Mvds has other games that interest him now.

I'll assume you mean me (MvdR is my gamertag, they're my initials).

Guilty as charged, pretty much. I never was one to focus on one game completely.

Actually I haven't totally given up on SSF4. For one, I still haven't beaten arcade mode with every character and I do want to see all the endings. I just beat it with Dhalsim and Cammy yesterday and with Akuma this morning. But it's true that I haven't been playing online as much.

I have the next two weeks off from work, so I'll have some more time to play video games. On the other hand, I just bought Starcraft 2 so I'll probably be playing that a lot.

I'm also definitely looking forward to Marvel 3, but I'm sure I'll play you again in SSF4 before then :-)

  4. now i can understand the multiplayer being region locked being a bit annoying to some people but come on you cant say region locked multiplayer ruins my multiplayer experience completely

No I don't know what ruins YOUR multiplayer experience :-)

I dunno. I don't expect this'll ruin multiplayer, but it's one more annoyance on top of all the others. Starcraft 2 removes so many of these basic features that were in Starcraft 1 and pretty much every other pc game ever, for no good reason.

If this game were anything other than the sequel to Starcraft, they would NEVER be able to sell this.

I'm not saying I won't buy it, honestly I haven't decided yet. I do know this game would have been a day one purchase if it weren't for this sort of thing.

  5. Wow, I didn't even know the region lock thing was that bad. That's yet another problem on top of the lack of LAN support, required internet activation for single player, the (postponed for now) requirement to use your real name to post on the Blizzard forums, etc. etc..

The base game may or may not be great, but Activision Blizzard is making it REALLY hard for me to justify buying it with all of this nonsense.

  6. I didn't believe the rumours before... I guess I stand corrected.

I'm a Street Fighter fan but I don't like Tekken, so I don't know how to feel about this. From the gameplay trailer it seems that SF vs Tekken will have tag teams, and play similarly to Street Fighter 4 but with more juggles. I liked all the juggling in Alpha 3 so this might actually be a good thing.

Wow. Apparently this is from the Japanese SSF4 arcade version.

I wonder if there will also be a DLC release for the console version then.

Is this supposed to be an upcoming new game?

It looks shopped... I think I recognise some of the Capcom character art from existing games. (Cody from Alpha 3, Dhalsim from Capcom vs SNK 2, Dante from Marvel vs Capcom 3.)

    Still, we'll see I guess.

  8. There seems to be another list now actually.

Taken from RPM's MvC3 thread. This is probably the full roster.

Debunked? The Okami wolf isn't in this list.

EDIT: here's an interview with the game's writer. He was asked who were his favourite characters to write for.

As for Capcom, I’ve always been partial to the Resident Evil and Street Fighter franchises so it’s probably those characters, especially the villains. They’re just such evil sons of bitches I had a ball writing for them.

So, Bison and Wesker pretty much confirmed :-)

  9. To be honest I didn't see the entire Evo SSF4 top 8, I only saw the finals and the last few rounds before those. But during that, Sessler was WAY worse than ANY of the other Evo commentators I've heard.

I remember right at the start of the

, Daigo won the first match 2-1, then Ricky won the first round of the second match. Sessler went "All tied up! Two for Ricky, two for Daigo." It was just embarassing. He clearly had no grasp of even the basic rules of the tournament he was supposed to comment on. To Seth's credit, he didn't smack Sessler but just sort of went silent, and then calmly corrected him later.

Any other time Sessler comments on the game he's just parroting stuff Seth has already said, or pointing out which player has more life. He added absolutely nothing. The only good thing he did was shutting up and letting Seth speak most of the time.

Some of the other commentators were annoying, but at least they had an idea what they were talking about. Seth was clearly the best one there; Sessler was nowhere near second.

  10. the one thing that made me mad this year was Adam Sessler commentating on the stream. He is a nice guy and know alot about Video games BUT the Fighting Community have better Commentators then him.

I agree. At least Seth Killian was there as well, and Sessler would mostly let Seth speak.

It was also kind of annoying that Sessler was only there for the last few matches. Not that I would have liked to hear more from him, but it just seems disrespectful - the actual expert commentators only get to do the first two days of Evo, and when the final eight come along and the number of viewers increases, bam there's Sessler.

  11. if anyone should be added in, it's

    2637423285_226d6f744a.jpg

I don't care too much about Alex. But it's pretty weird that he's not in SSF4. He was supposed to be SF3's main character, hell he's even in Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

Haven't played too much Street Fighter lately. The weather has been very warm and it tends to get really hot in the room where my 360 is. I want to get back into the game after watching some Evo matches though.

  12. I doubt there will be any downloadable characters for SSF4. I'm pretty sure Seth Killian flat-out denied that was going to happen. He hinted that it might happen for future Capcom fighters and also that he would try to prevent it from happening. (don't have source on hand though, maybe I'm not remembering it right)

If there is going to be more DLC for SSF4, I think it'll just be more game modes, stages, costumes etc..

  13. OCR appreciation thread, nice

Since I have no good musical background, I feel ill equipped to do good reviews

I have the same problem. But as others have said, maybe it doesn't matter so much and I should leave some remix reviews anyway.
