  1. Hey guys, I've not had chance to compose an original track for a while now, but I've given myself a couple of days to create what I found to be slightly out of my comfort zone, this being a slightly more chiptune/trap based composition. Here's Sir. Chipps in all his glorified chippy-pop goodness. Sir. Chipps Feedback would be jolly good! Case.
  2. Hey guy's so I've been doing a couple of jazz studies in the last few days and wanted to at least try my hand at something. I thought why not mix together the video game genre of my work so I came up with this: Mario's Jazventure I'd love to get some feedback on how I'm going about the style of jazz as a whole, are the instruments used in the right way? How do the chords sound? etc.. I've seen quite a few really nice jazz tracks on here and hopefully I can get some great pointers. Cheers!
  3. Thanks for the critique, timaeus! I see my biggest problem is the mechanical sound, I'll take some time out to play around with these techniques to humanize the sound more. With the panning, I actually used the default panning on these instruments as it sounded pretty good at the time, listening through headphones, however, bring outs the cluttered-ness, so I'll definitely amend that. Thanks again for the feedback!
  4. Thanks, I'll have a play around with a new melody for that part, I feel the bass could use a bit of variation since stepping back from the music and listening to it with fresher ears too. Thanks for the feedback!
  5. Hullo guys, I've been high on life recently and got back in the swing of writing happy-go-lucky tunes and this is the result of that, I call it.. Tropix I'd love to hear your feedback on it, production-wise I'm still a little foggy on as I'm actually studying mastering on these tracks a little more than my previous ones, I'd really appreciate and tips and advice on the subject! Cheers, Case.
  6. Hey guys, I'm back with a full original track finally! I've been pretty busy in the last month or so with a couple of game soundtracks, but I decided to give my self a few days off and compose something that's been in my head for a long time! Crystal Chills Hope you enjoy as I did composing every part of this piece, and any feedback is welcome as always!
  7. Adding to the family: Chillmate!
  8. I've decided to start up a new project titled 'Mini-tunes' (or something like that) and it's basically going to consist of a bunch of 1 minute or less original tunes based off my influences, starting with this one: Goofymate! It's pretty obvious if you've played the game (without looking at the tags of course) which this track is based off. I'd love to hear some feedback, whatever it may be, good/bad/CC etc. Cheers!
  9. Hey guys! I just recently finished composing the soundtrack for Diehard Dungeon by Tricktale and I'm sharing it here for all to listen to. I had a blast composing it and made a good friend doing so. I also learned a few new tricks and overall an awesome experience with new tools and instruments. So here's the Soundcloud set link: The Music! You can get the game and follow updates/info here: The Game! The game itself has been around quite a few months but in the last few days has had some major overhauls and features implemented. A download link for the game's soundtrack should be up within a couple of weeks, if not, I give you the permission to bug me about it. Any feedback whatsoever is welcome as always! Cheers!
  10. Hey guys, I'm back again with a new piece of music, this time its more of a remix and not an original (note the title). I've been working hard on commissions lately and thought it was about time to start up a new piece.. this is the result in that. I'll probably put it up for download within the days to come, enjoy! "Quoted" Any feedback/critique/thumbs up/thumbs down/cookies/bananas/level ups are welcome!
  11. Thanks, yeah, I'm gonna be extending this a little within the next few days, hopefully adding a brand new section too. I'll post hear as soon as I get that done.
  12. Brilliant sound dude! The production is great and those 8bit sounding parts really caught my eye (ear).
  13. I started working on a new soundtrack recently for a game me and a few friends are working on that will include different elements from such genres as platforming, RPG and adventure. I'm having a blast creating a custom soundtrack for it and uploading to SoundCloud for people to hear. The only thing with SoundCloud is that the community are way too nice (if you're a member, you probably know what I'm talking about) so I'm posting here to get some critique / any other feedback. Here's the track that's currently unfinished: It's Alright! Lemme know what you guys think, cheers!
  14. Definitely got a nice peaceful vibe to this, the description on SC is a great way to put the listener directly in the place you are when you compose this, great work.
  15. Woow! I can't stop listening to this, its so chill and very pleasant on the ears, the variations in instrumentation and melodies are brilliantly executed, major props to you!
  16. Here's an album/set of various themes I put together with the idea of a themed 2D game in mind (I had been playing Cave Story a few weeks before so you may hear influences from there). Overall I spent about 8 - 12 weeks on these at a steady progress with breaks in between and right now I'm having a small break from adding anymore tracks and working on something new, so I thought I'd post them here for now. Project 4Squared (SoundCloud Set) Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as I often go back to some of these tracks and make minor tweaks here and there. Cheers!
  17. Hi guys, it's been a while since I posted here, but I've been getting to grips with new and old software and experimenting with different instruments for a while and it's about time I started a new project, so here it is so far: High Spirits W.I.P (Soundcloud) Constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated and any other feedback too, thanks! P.S. I'll be active much more now that I have free time too.
  18. I'm gonna keep this short. When I heard about this tragic event, I was in so much shock as to how a human being could do such a terrible thing, there are some truly evil people in the world and the word 'evil' doesn't even come close to what they really are. I have composed a piece of music that is dedicated to the victims of this unbelievably horrific act of nature, I hope the families and friends of the people who lost their lives can stay strong. This is for you. Believing (Soundcloud)
  19. New update: Soundcloud (Updated) This time I've added a part before the ending with more strings to accompany the piano (dynamics too!). Some more minor tweaks too to the panning. I think I'm close to actually finishing this now.
  20. I've taken everything into consideration, listened back a few times and done another mix session, this time with about 20% less reverb on the pianos, which in my opinion, makes everything sounding less muddy and much better. I also added about 40% more room reverb on the strings and panned them along with piano, hihats and cymbals. Here's the results:
  21. Man, you guys are good! I've only been composing for a few months now and it shows I have a lot to learn. @Magellanic: About the strings sounding 'wooden' and harsh, this maybe because I was trying out a different type of reverb and looking at the mix, I used far less, going to play around with this now. @Pumpkin King: Right on the ball there too with the panning on the pianos on the mono track, basically I wanted to widen them out so I duped the main piano track and panned about 50percent each way. I'm also gonna play around with some panning now. Oh and I used Pro Tools for this. Again, I appreciate the tips a bunch, you guys are really helping me become a better composer/producer, thanks again! Also, I'll update the thread with a newer version very soon.
  22. Thanks for the feedback guys, I'll take the reverb tip on board and reduce the amount and see what results I get, I may post back here with an updated version when I do! Thanks again for the tips.
  23. This is beautiful, I love how it stays within the whole texture of the Halo 'sound'. The harps and choir work really well, not to mention those well placed high strings. Can't wait to hear the full version of this. Awesome work.
  24. Hey guys, I'm fairly new here so go easy on a newb like myself. So one day I was playing around with 3 simple chords and at the same time coming up with a melody, it sounded way too familiar.. Lava Reef! (One of my favourite tracks from the Sonic Genesis games) So here I am now posting this arrangement/remix. Tranquil Reef (Soundcloud) Tranquil Reef (Youtube) Feedback is much appreciated! Thanks.
  25. This is beautiful, I can't stop listening to it, you've done a fine job sir!
