  1. I've been sitting on this one for a little over 2 years, but finally overhauled most of it December last year. So while I figure out how I want the next chunk of the song to actually go, I figured I would put this section out as it currently is. Might speed it up a little bit, might tweak the drums a bit, who knows.
  2. Have finally had some time to work on this again. Here's a small update. The last 30 seconds are somewhat incomplete, harmonically and in the melodic editing. It's close to done though!
  3. That last update was pretty messy, so here's the finished (length-wise) version of this remix. Any and all comments are very welcome.
  4. Yo, here's an update. Finally back at it. Very minor, still working on a lot of things.
  5. First off, thank you for spelling out the D7sus4 for me, and for the feedback! I'm a little rusty with my theory at the moment Next, I'll see if I can't make something work alongside that bell pattern, because it is just a syncopated version of the pattern in Aura's Theme. I still need to play around with that D7sus4 for a bit to find a way to make it really click at that part. I cut the beginning out of this recording because I want to wait to include it until it reaches what I want it to be. I also did some work on the vocals and cut them up to better fit the time at 0:47, though they still aren't perfect yet. But for this 'update' all that's different is just extending the whole song and adding some stuff to the more empty parts. Also there is about 30 seconds at the end which is just the foundation for the end section with no melodic or harmonic anything really. 6. Originals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhwSsIOTOS0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfO-9eRe9v8&list=PLh9hcS0tfUw0aadEWKl26XeL8IrDyTVoB&index=35 Remix: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/hack-aura-themehidden-forbidden-holy-ground-remix A very glitchy take on two beautiful songs from a very glitchy (plot wise, not buggy, I think) game. This is a remix that I've been waiting to do for years and finally felt up to it. It is far from being done, but I have put together somewhat of an idea for it. Some quick notes: - The begin is not right, I know what I want 0:00-0:32 to sound like, but need to spend some more serious time on it. Not sure if I'll keep the vocals from the song, though I do like them. - The bass at 0:36-1:28 sounds a little too happy right now. Maybe it's the notes, maybe it's the settings. - Not sure if I'll keep the original vocals form 0:45-1:32, they were originally just a placeholder and sound messy and out of time, but I may fix that and use them. - I need to find a better second drum layer at 0:59, it doesn't sound entirely good, plus I need to figure out how to fix the one that's already there. - The relaxed section where the source tune changes is a bit of an eye of the storm kind of section that will have the first source come back even harder afterwards. - I love these games.
  7. https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/dk64-crystal-caves-liquid-dnb-track-wip-1 Original: This is a little chunk of a Chill liquid DnB remix of Crystal Caves from the game I can't believe still hasn't had a remix on OCR since I started visiting 10 years ago. I posted this to Soundcloud a little over a month ago now, and I've actually added about another minute of content to it since. But, I wanted to get this here now before I keep forgetting and I'll wait to update until the track is pretty much finished.
  8. Originals: (Best version ever ) Remix: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/toccata-and-fugue-in-doopliss-minor-wip-1 This project has been on the back-burner for a few years now, and last winter I listened to the Canadian Brass version of toccata and fugue in d minor and thought, "Hey, that sounds like the Doopliss battle theme a little". So I put in some parts from toccata (most aren't in this rendered version/intro sounded too cheesy) and I wanted to pick this remix back up again this summer. The transitions aren't great and some drum sounds aren't set, but most of the outline sans intro of the track is relatively there. I also started out with the mini-boss theme, don't know why.
  9. Thank you both for the feedback. I'm feeling both of you on this one, I think I need to take a step back and work on something simpler, and study how to make my remixes more musical. That is definitely a problem I have, getting lost in the mix and going off on tangents. I will get back sometime in the future and come back with a more presentable product!
  10. UPDATE Remix: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/delphino-plaza-remix-whip-2 Side note: The outro vamp transition (around 1:36) is a little awkward and I'm a little stuck for a good way to proceed After many months I finally have free time to whip this thing into shape.
  11. Remix: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/delphino-plaza-remix-whip-1 Original: Any and all criticism welcome! Notes: -Around 53s in, will tweak bass sound (might remove altogether) ; it sounded empty in this section so I wanted something to very temporarily fill the hole - There is more coming at the end, a sort of outro vamp that isn't finished yet
  12. I didn't get to the problems I said when I posted the remix first, but I touched up the ~1 minute I had after that which I didn't release. https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/dot-hack-rainy-prairie-field-remix-wip2
  13. Source: Remix: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/dot-hack-rainy-prairie-field-remix Almost done. Been at this one for a month or two now and a pretty proud of the results so far, but have to take a short break. Problems: -Beginning may too empty, I'll have to work on that little by little. Just been too busy on other parts of song. - Melody/lead in the 'battle mode' section at 2:33. Some notes aren't right, and I'm still working on the first half of it which isn't in right now. -The groovy bass thing that starts around 1:55 and continues just doesn't sound right, and I'm stumped about it. Any ideas or help/criticism welcome, I'll be back to work on this pretty soon.
  14. Cool, guys! I think to keep the vibe/feel I want for the song I have decided to cut the intense (Nearest place to heaven part 2) Section out and purely stick with the slow feel-good/liquid DnB feel throughout the whole song. I will try to apply both of your comments to the best of my abilities and will post an update when I do so.
  15. Here is a remix of a PSO song that I've been wanting to do for a while. It is pretty rough/bare as I don't know what direction I really want to take it from here. The melody will be more different than the original, but for now I just wanted it there as a placeholder. Originals:- - Remix: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/jam-for-idola-the-beatmaster I was thinking of doing something like switch back and forth between the feel good section (nearest place part 1) to the menacing/intense section (Nearest place part 2) throughout the song, while using more of the feel good parts throughout. This will be my most serious remix and I plan for it to take up a lot of time for work, so let me know what you think of it!
  16. I see what you mean. I tried to bring it out a little more, but my computer is having trouble with all that's going on in this project. Here it is: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/phase-no1-skeith-remix-update-3 I'll fix my computer issues soon.
  17. Here's another update, this thing is pretty much finished. https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/phase-no1-skeith-remix-update-2
  18. Hey thanks man! This is actually coming along quite nicely, the only major thing right now is mastering. Might be able to finish this sooner than I thought
  19. Here's a little update for the Remix. https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/phase-no1-skeith-remix-update-1
  20. Original Song: Remix: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/phase-no1-skeith-remix Despite this game not being too well known (.Hack original quadrilogy for PS2), it is a very fun JRPG with a huge back story and many predecessors and followers. This is a game series close to my heart. Though not many of the the songs in the game are memorable on their own, they do the game justice. This song stood out to me when deciding what to remix next and is one of my favorite songs and moments from the game. Enjoy.
  21. Originals: Remix: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/wip-ppttyd-doopliss-battle-remix A Paper Mario the thousand year door boss battle theme, with added mini-boss battle music at the beginning. This is very early in development and I would love any feedback to help drive this to completion!
  22. https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/lavender-town-remix-v2 I fixed the (supposed to be) glitch ending, it didn't process the first two times, don't know why.
  23. remix: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/lavender-town-mix Original: I made a lavender town remix using only a Tim Allen grunt soundfile a while back, so I thought I make a more serious one. The main form of the track is done (except the ending), but all the blank/empty spaces will be filled in later (most obvious around 50 seconds in).
  24. Polishing, tuning, fun fun. Now up for Mod Review: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/frantic-factory-remix-8
  25. Finally back with another update! Been rather busy and my summer is ending soon, but I plan to submit this remix before it does end. Here's another update: https://soundcloud.com/killing-pepsi/frantic-factory-remix-7
