  1. I legit LOL'ed at this. I need to patent and trademark my superiorx stereo widening skills.

Really cool sources this week too! I love me some Mega Man Killas. I think Gario is going for our team this week though. My week is ridiculously busy between work and family commitments :( I'm excited to hear what everyone comes up with!

Metaphist really did a great job on that song, and the rest of the album as well.

:!: Also, I wanna give a shoutout to Xarnax42 for getting his first mix posted as part of Balance and Ruin! :!:

  2. Hey guys. I'm at Stevo's right now for Otakon weekend so music will go up tomorrow.

Source reveals are as follows. The theme this week is Mega Man Rivals:

Here are the Mega Man Killers (music from Mega Man 10):

    Enker: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxpGwlfZct4

    Ballade: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKJPy5YYruY

    Punk: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y70EJM52htk

Also available is Quint's theme from Mega Man II for GB:

And Bass & Treble from Mega Man 7:

I thought you were going to do something like this, just not this round!

Can we use the GB versions of these songs?

  3. yeeeah, Charles kind of dropped the ball for a few years due to falling out with his label mates or something (I never looked into the details because he's not one of top favorites to follow), but he used to OBSESSIVELY allude to Sonic in his earlier raps. November 10th is just one of the most [in]famous ones, but I liked him overall in his heyday.

And I'm talking to Meta a bit through emails right now about a bunch of things and to see if he's cool with it, but what I meant is that he recently came out with a siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick vgm rap album, and I keep hounding him that if he doesn't do so then I'll gladly make a thread for him here in the community to promote it because it is intense. I mean like, not a few songs in it starts getting good; no, from the first track you can tell this guy's about to throw it down.

I'm really interested, you know where I can get Metaphist's album?

  4. How to use IRC

(This guide is mainly for Esper IRC, but the same rules apply for other clients)

First, click this link to head to the main IRC website.

In the top-right corner, there should be a button that says Chat Now. Click it.

You should be taken to a screen that looks like this:

Enter your OCRemix username in the Nickname bar, and wcrg in the Channel bar. Press connect and you're done!

    (Hope this helps!)

  5. Man. Once the next block rolls around, I really need to figure out a way to teach some of you guys about identifying the keys of the songs you're remixing and putting both tracks in the same key for your remix. Also need to get some of you guys past just doing two separate remixes and tacking them together; remember, the goal is to make one cohesive song. Someone unfamiliar with the sources should not really be able to tell that you remixed two piece of music together.

I want this year's WCRG to be a lot more educational. Maybe a bunch of us (noobs and vets alike) can all sit down in a Google Hangout during round 4 and talk about arrangement techniques, sort of a Wily Castle Master Class. Interested?

I may or may not able to make it, but I'm definitely interested. Will someone keep a log of what was said?
