  1. 1) Get better at music production

    • Mix everyday
    • Compose/arrange everyday
    • If I had to choose a genre to get better in, I think I choose .. electronic
    • finish at least one of the literally dozens of music production books I have bought

    2) Stop being 185 lbs and above and start being something like 155-160 lbs

    • I believe I took a picture in December 2011 of a large Beachbody box and captioned it "2012 will be the year of the sixpack" (didn't happen, not even close)

    3) Figure out what I am going to do with my life

    • Maybe I should move this to #1

    4) Pay off thousands of credit card debt

    5) Actually do any of my new year's resolutions ever in life ever

  2. To paraphrase Austin Wintory, life is all about choices. If you truly want to become a composer, then do any and everything you can to make it happen, no matter how many steps or how much time it takes. You don't want to end up 90 years old, looking back at your life, wishing that life could have been different if you had tried to become a composer. No one can be Nobuo except Nobuo, just like no one can be you except you. The industry is competitive and always growing, but that's of course not a reason to stop trying.

It CAN be a drag to see youngins here with so much talent, but don't focus on that aspect. Make friends, learn from them, get inspired. Talent takes time to develop, so practice always, take it one day at a time and improvement will come.

Sigh tbh I think I wrote this more for myself than anyone else :/

  3. I started with FF7 and it's my favorite out of the series, and quite possibly my favorite game ever. People rave over older ones such as FF6, but every time I try any of the FF1-6 I just can't get into them, not even the DS remakes. [if you STARTED with FF1, it would definitely be a different experience.]

My personal recommendation is to start with 7, then go up from there (I refer to 7-10 as 'the awesomeness.') But my personal recommendation also which trumps the aforementioned one is to listen to everyone else and not me, cuz , well , that's what I would do heh.

I think if I could go back in time and do it all over again, I'd probably try and start with FF4
