  1. I finished this. Criticisms;

    - the voice acting was around the same quality as the original's - which was mediocre for a game released in the 90s. One voice actor for guards, three voice actors for scientists was especially jarring considering they all look different and even have different names now. I can understand all the army guys sounding the same, but the army guys also sound especially retarded, so it sucks. They could have done much better on this.

i was disapointed by the army voicing. the content of the chatter indeed but also the way the voice is rendered in game.

    - there are several points where there's a profound feeling of 'where the fuck am I and what the fuck am I doing'. In making everything look super realistic they made it much more difficult to ascertain which button I'm supposed to push, which button can even be pushed, and where the hell are the buttons.

God yes, i was a bit lost in the blast pit with that. and with the small change made by the team you start to wander of they didn't change completely the location of a button you don't manage to find.

    - I know everyone these days is a fan of the whole 'get hit by things, your camera angle shakes' sort of realism, but it was really annoying and out of place in this game. Especially horrible was getting locked up by a bunch of Houndeyes - their little sonic blast thing moves your camera so much that it makes it impossible to shoot them for at least a second, and if there's more than one they always manage to do it sequentially, so you get almost no chance to fight back.

you end up like the original half life, quick saving/loading a lot to manage health ammo. appart that the work on the bullsquid and the zombies is awesome.

damn that's game is finely crafted, just spent some time looking around on the various desk, also all those osha sign everywhere. it's also not a carbon copy some area are slightly different than the original.

  3. Color me impressed on the Ace Combat achievements. Neither of those medals are easy to get, though I intend to try for both eventually.

I did beat Pixy in the F-4E Phantom II on Very Hard. Not Ace, though.

i only missed the quick silver one by 10 or 15 minute i think. never retried the whole thing after that. beating pixie with a F4 is a nice performance too, that plane is a bit like an anvil in term of maneuvrability.

also Doom and doom II and a part of final doom, difficulty ultraviolence, starting each level with the pistol only. hell gate and deimos anomaly on the psx version ...oh damn you count your ammo.

  4. Stealing music? LOL, this is funny. I could careless if he stole anything -- doujin artists aren't well known no matter where they are at, and his uploading these tracks to YouTube easily gave him and those tracks some fame.

That's what he said in his reply to my comment.

It reaches a new level of derpyness.

good lord that's deserves a good slap in the crotch. the guy is unknow lemme take the fame instead!

  5. The WCRG or GRMRB stuff was never added to a public archive was it? I thought it was just limited to the zip files that people downloaded after each round and maybe a final zip in the thread. I don't know how I'd feel about those songs being in public distribution. A lot of the stuff in these compos goes on to be improved and released on like, something.. :-o

i archive one of the contest. btw didn't darkesword released some sort of album or something? don't remember if the songs were improved or not.

that's what i want to do with this one. you know Brandon browse throught the prc archive, there are a lot of low grade mix there too.

  6. "Salty Sig Zone"

I about died loling. That's just wonderful.

i just wrote 'zone' has a starter but it was too small to easily grab and move it around, so salty sig to keep the sonic cd trend.

Oh that looks pretty cool. Where would that be? Hosted on a website, so you'd click on each of those little bracket images and download all mixes from that artist, is that what you had in mind?

my website like the megaman archive yes.
