  1. Still don't see the problem.

Every one will die eventually and this planet will cease to exist sometime down the line.

That's what those lines mean, and they are true.

People need to stop being sissy little girls.

Yeah it's fucking littlebigplanet though. I'd understand if this was like, Fallout 3. But it's not. It's littlebigplanet. Who wants to hear lyrics (whether or not you understand them) that you are aware say those kind of things while playing LittleBigPlanet? True, for some of us it would be pretty entertaining for the two elements to mix. But kids are going to play this too.

  2. according to loltaku, the words actually mean something!

To: Sony Computer Entertainment & Media Molecule

While playing your latest game, "LittleBigPlanet" in the first level of the third world in the game (titled "Swinging Safari"), I have noticed something strange in the lyrics of the music track of the level. When I listened carefully, I was surprised to hear some very familiar Arabic words from the Quran. You can listen to part of the track here:

    http://mt14.quickshareit.com/share/preview/soundclip22503c0.wav

    The words are:

1- In the 18th second: "كل نفس ذائقة الموت" ("kollo nafsin tha'iqatol mawt", literally: 'Every soul shall have the taste of death').

2- Almost immediately after, in the 27th second: "كل من عليها فان" ("kollo man alaiha fan", literally: 'All that is on earth will perish').

I asked many of my friends online and offline and they heard the exact same thing that I heard easily when I played that part of the track. Certain Arabic hardcore gaming forums are already discussing this, so we decided to take action by emailing you before this spreads to mainstream attention.

We Muslims consider the mixing of music and words from our Holy Quran deeply offending. We hope you would remove that track from the game immediately via an online update, and make sure that all future shipments of the game disk do not contain it.

We hope you act immediately to avoid any confusion and unnecessary controversy, and we thank you for making such an amazing game.

    Regards,

Maybe that will give it a little bit of context. Personally, I think Sony are pussies for taking this out!!!

  3. If this ends up being a double post, them I'm sorry, but I gotta bring up all the kickass things Toonami & Williams Street brought us over the years.

They showed the DBZ movie Dead Zone IN JAPANESE, UNCUT at midnight, and then did the same thing for Tree of Might & World's Strongest, like, a week later. It was AWESOME.

Then there were the uncut episodes of Gundam Wing that aired at midnight, before the Midnight Run became what it did.

They paid to have the final 13 episodes of Sailor Moon R dubbed! They ran a marathon of the entire series, building up to the unveiling of ALL 13 episodes back-to-back for the first time. It was the tits.

The 20-hour marathon of DBZ? "DBZ20XL." A bold move indeed.

Of course, paying to co-produce Big O season 2 and IGPX.

Seriously, all the music, clips, montages and one-liners themselves were enough unto themselves.

"The revolution will be televised." Indeed, sirs, it was. Toonami revolutionized a cable channel, sure, but it also set fire to a cultural revolution in the hearts of thousands of youth in America.

Reading this makes me so nostalgic.

  4. i dont see why people dont like steam besides the fact that maybe its really terribly coded and takes up tons of resources but in terms of distributing games i find it excellent because as long as i know my login info no matter where i am i will forever own the game

also as ive said before if i like a game i will buy it regardless of any kind of drm

Also the steam servers are so reliable that downloading/installing barely takes any times.

  5. Haha definitely! All I know is I need HD tivo before the next games. I've missed quite a few events because of work which ended up a pain to find online...

Yeah, any form of HDR is great. Not only did I stay up all night watching events, but as soon as I woke up I would watch HD recordings of the men's USA bball team pwning noobs.

  6. What pisses me off besides the fact that NBC refuses to actually show much of anything other than all Phelps all the time on TV is that the Olympic committee is rumored to be thinking of removing Taekwondo as an event because "it isn't popular enough".

Well I'm fucking sorry that Phelps isn't competing in that event, but has anyone seen at least highlight matches from 4 years ago? Yeah, that was some badass shit to watch.

I've been watching a lot of NBC olympics on NBC's sister channels, USA and Universal. I don't know if you get Universal, but those both are either run or permitted by NBC to show the Olympics, and since it's in the middle of the night, it's live if you're in the US. So far I've caught fencing, boxing, volleyball, badminton, shooting, rowing, and even equestrian (lol). It sucks if you don't get these channels, but I do, and have been so far pleased with the coverage. Also I watched US soccer last night but fell asleep.

  7. What is the greatest olympic moment?

When the USA amateur hockey team beat the Soviet legends in 1980?

Yeah it was voted by some group as best sports moment in history evar.

Also, USA RAPED in the men's 4x200m freestyle. Great scott Marty.

  8. Man, the US mens gymnastics teams were a whole bunch of cocky pricks. Man they pissed me off! They were cheering and saying "U-S-A" like they'd won gold. For crying out loud, even the chinese were humble in winning their Gold and we have our noob gymnists acting like retards with way too much camera time. Geez.

Seriously, I can handle a little bit of national pride and happiness when you've won but they got a freakin' bronze and were making a bigger ruckus than the gold and silver medalists combined.

    >_<

The Chinese mens gymnastics team was freakin' incredible. I've never really been a fan of gynastics but damn, some of that stuff they did was crazy!!

You gotta realize every person on the USA men's gymnastics team has never been to the Olympics before. Also, they didn't go into this even expecting to get a medal. Imagine going to the Olympics for the first time, you get a medal that you didn't think you had a chance in, let alone getting into the finals. None of them were being cocky, they were just trying to raise their own morale against a team that they knew was amazing. What's wrong with being happy about winning a medal?

  9. SHIT. Talk about pressure. Good fucking job Artemev. Good on the USA gymnastics team to get a medal. There were so many good performances out of USA. Also, China was just mindblowing.

On another note can you imagine how it must feel to be one of the swimmers left in the wake of Michael Phelps in the 200m Butterfly, knowing he just swam a gold medal race an hour ago? I'd feel sick to my stomach.
