  1. seriously I'm beginning to think the only reason for all the Vista hate in the first place is just a lot of people who fuckin suck at computers

it's always ran fantastic for me

Haha yea. I mean, I have a pretty solid computer, but I've never had any issues running Vista at all. Windows 7 is running all the better.. I love it.

  2. Hell, post your system rating :D

    cpu - 7.1

    memory - 5.9

    graphics - 7.9

    gaming graphics - 5.9

    HD - 2.9

Nice little touch adding that MS.

    My desktop gets:

    cpu - 6.4 (C2D E8400)

    memory - 6.6 (4gb ddr2 800)

    graphics - 7.9 (geforce 8800gt)

    gaming graphics 5.9

hd - 3.0 (using an old 80gb drive)

    Laptop stats:

    cpu - 4.3 (p4 prescott 3.4ghz)

    memory - 5.1 (2gb ddr400)

    graphics - 3.9 (integrated radeon x600)

    gaming graphics - 3.7

    hd - 2.0 (old 5400rpm drive :/)

  3. If you are looking to mount, try DAEMON Tools.

I think they are saying that Daemon Tools isn't working properly on 7.

I'll reiterate one of my posts earlier.. has anyone tried setting up IIS yet? *edit* Nevermind.. my dumb ass forgot about the Windows Firewall being on by default >.>

  4. did you get the newest drivers from nvidia's website? it could just be because it's a new os, and they haven't optimized it yet.

According to nVidia's site the only way to get beta drivers for 7 is through Windows Update. As soon as they release new drivers everyone should get them through WU, which is kinda nifty.

  5. Has anyone tried setting up IIS on 7 yet? I have it set up, and it tells me its running, but when I try to access it from another computer it won't load. Just wondering if anyone else has had success with it..

  6. Thanks for the links Bahamut. Also everyone note that the Neowin link states that this is the same as the 7000 leak from a couple weeks ago, so for those that have that leak we're good - we just need a key now.

  7. the damn site is basically tanked. i started hitting reload about four hours ago and i still haven't gotten through.

all i care about is a key, or a hack that'll let me use it without an issue. grr...

AFAIK it should still work for 30 days, you just need the key to use it past that 30 days; without cracking it of course.

  8. Oh yeah, downloads DEFINITELY under heavy load right now. I'm at work anyway, so I can't get it. Someone on here do me the favor of at least holding onto the ISO in case I get home too late to get it later today, please? Y'all rock!

The ISO isn't a problem.. that'll be all over torrent sites, if it isn't already up. It's the 2.5 million beta keys that will run out, and they could very possibly be out already.

  9. Notice a pattern of crappiness though? I started with 3.1, which was indescribably difficult to navigate, but considering I was under the age of 10 (I think I was 6 or 7?), I did alright. Then Windows 95 came out, and was...just...awful. Barely ran on my computer, and had no way to utilize any of what they considered eye-candy in that day (even my educational games barely ran). Then Windows 98 came out, and turned into a relatively stable OS (for the time and besides DLL hell): it ran quick-ish, ran all my games, and actually allowed me some music, video, and downloading endulgence. Then ME came out, and introduced a ton of new features (as 95 did after 3.1) but did not function at all in the intended ways. They refined it and changed the core, still including a ton of the new features from ME, and came out with XP shortly after. Then a long time and Vista finally rears its ugly head, introducing new features but being a total resource hog and being very un-user friendly, for typical AND power users. Albeit it grew on my after a while, but program incompatibility and a number of quirks prevented me from ever considering it a "primary OS candidate". Now, shortly after Vista came out, a new revision including mostly Vista features (a few new tweaks and additions) but being much more cleaned up is on its way. I can't help but feel that I paid to be part of some customer beta with Vista's final product.

They need to come out with great, or at least usable, products consistently, instead of coming out with crap followed by the real deal. More activities like this could eventually lead to a Linux-leading software industry...not likely, but I'm starting to lose my patience.

You forgot to mention Windows 2000 in that mix, which was an incredibly stable, well-working OS, at least based on my 4-5 years of using it.

  10. I installed the Beta 1 (build 7000) leak today.. don't really know what the differences are over the earlier leak, but things work just fine on it as well. A buddy of mine actually uses the first leak as his permanent OS as of right now.

  11. As for the other new quest, you can only access it once you complete the game once, and go into New Game+. It doesn't sound too bad from what I've read.

Actually, you don't have to go into NG+ to access the Dimensional Vortex. Instead of starting NG+ you can just continue your save, the portals will still be there, and once you beat new ending you can save and then start your NG+.

  12. Harle hater!! :P I submitted a full set when Liontamer was taking submissions before the switch to vBulletin. But yeah, they weren't cleaned up because I failed at Photoshopping and cropping. But since I got Harle accepted I got lazy and didn't remake the others.

Yea.. like I would really want a Harle avatar ;)

  13. Well I'm using FF 3.0.4 and have the latest version of Flash (10 something) and everything works fine for me.

Do you have NoScript or any other kind of addon that blocks scripts that could be interfering?

If you can't figure it out I would highly suggest downloading the IE Tab addon, it lets you either choose to load a page using IE's engine inside of FF, or it lets you switch on the fly.

  14. Have you tried changing mms to http? The mms:// protocol will always open the file in Windows Media Player. Depending on your browser settings if you use http it may come up with a download dialog, or it could load and play in your browser.

Alternatively you could use the http version and create an html file on your desktop with a simple link to the file so that you can download it.

  15. Good game so far.. took me a few days to beat all the songs on guitar, Hot For Teacher took me the longest by far.

I've run into the issue with the sensitivity on the yellow cymbal pad, but it doesn't seem to be as bad for me as others. I'll probably do the tape trick on it.

Band play is definitely fun.. I have a couple friends that are loving all the southern songs in the game.
