  1. This.

So for my suggestions, I love the music from Ace Combat, it's good heavy orchestral stuff.

Amazing rock? Dynasty warriors. Most are similar, but Cinnamon Jihad and I find number 7's OST to be the best.

Speaking of rock, check Megaman X 6, it's style matches the notorious difficulty of the game.

If you like sonic music, check Sonic Generation OST, overall it's good remixes of classic songs.

Oh, and Persona 4 has some interesting ones.

  2. lol, you are in the century 21st, man, wake up!

Im a christian too and I dont feel offended by the game! actually I play it in a daily basis!

Your moral code shouldn't be based on what age you live in. So I say good on him for not accepting everything that comes his way.

I will say I'm Christian as well, but I didn't buy this game for it's darker undertones. But ironically enough, there is an interesting message at the end.

The mother trying to kill her son thing is true. And it wants to poke at Christians from the reason why the mother is trying to kill her son. She hears "a voice from above" that says to show her faith she must sacrifice her son.

Sound like a pretty mean message against Christians right? Well here is the kicker. On your first time beating the game, it continues that story. What happens is that when Isaac is stuck in a corner about to get sacrificed, a bible falls down on the mother, knocking her out. The narrator says during this scene "But just as he accepted his fate, god intervened, sending an angle to stop his mothers hand."

It never once said the voice that required the mother to sacrifice came from god. So even though this game does have a TON of demonic references, there's at least that I guess.

So don't take everything for face value, but I still totally respect anyone who feels this game is just not for them.

  3. Well from what I'm reading none of you guys have played binding of Issac (I mean no offense from this, it just sounds like I could help here.)

I've beat Binding of Issac a few times, every time you start it you are suppose to beat it in one go (it takes about 30 min to an hour and will extend to another level after beating it the first time)

Honestly, while I would like to have binding of issac on the 3ds, I can't fault Nintendo for not allowing it. Mainly due to the setting and how dark it can be (you can find guys being hanged from the ceiling). Especially the floor titled "The womb" (That is one messed up place). There are a ton of references to internet tropes, religious books , and video games (1-up, shoop da woop, dead sea scrolls, even My Little Pony)

As for appearing to be like Zelda, I got the same feeling when I was looking at the videos and gameplay from steam. When I was playing, I noticed that some of the enemies draw heavily from zelda enemies, but the overall feel of it issac very different. Zelda has that gigantic feeling of exploration, to search every nook and cranny to improve yourself for upcoming challenges.

Issac has just the opposite feel, in fact I would say that the gameplay of Issac is the anti thesis to Zelda gameplay. Every moment you are just trying to get out, trying to survive, yet you are forced to go deeper into the cave. Instead of looking for the next challenge, you fear what you could be facing. Everything is random in this game, everything. Layout, the bosses, the powerup's, and the items, some of which give negative effects, which you find out after you used it. Sometimes after a boss, you can make pacts with the devil to increase your powers at the cost of your max health. (Which sometimes I did, sometimes I didn't, it all depended on how much max health I had and previous powers I acquired) Just to add to the fear of losing there is perma-death makes it a very intense game.

Hopefully you guys can get some sort of useful information out of my random jibberish.

  4. So there are a lot of battle music in games, which is because most games fight things. But I want to talk about battle music that fits, that gets me pumped when I'm fighting. I know there were a bunch of songs that did this for me, that I sadly can not think of right now. But one I do remember is

So I've got a few reasons why this one got me super pumped:

    1. It wasn't a remix of the NMH main song (Which if you listen to, you'll hear a lot of variations)

    2. This was the secret ending, you had to grind pretty hard for the blade to get here.

    3. This is probably why I'm remembering this song first off. Because my first fight with him, I was getting wrecked! In less than a minute I was sitting at 1 hit left. So I thought I was a goner, but just as the music mellows out a little bit I started seeing the pattern in his attacks and how to defeat this guy. So it felt like the music was almost in synch with how my game was going. Once I finally started getting hits on him and dodging his stuff, the music looped back to the guitar and felt more energetic as I was beating him down. I won the fight and got to see the secret ending. Forever etching that song into my mind.

So that's my fun little story, I'm sure I'll come up with other fighting music that got me pumped.

    Edit:

I always find it interesting when a game uses variations on a certain theme throughout the game. Particularly, I think variations on the same battle theme are AWESOME.

You would love No More Heroes music. (I actually enjoyed it as well, but literally 4/5th of the music is remixed main battle theme. So if there's any game that hit a limit, it's that one.)

  5. Alright, so when I went to the ISU anime club, in 4 weeks going I became the Club Secretary (I work with the website.) I've done it for a semester and for the new semester I planed with the rest of the presidency for what we were going to watch for anime. In that meeting I realized I had watched a paltry amount of anime's.

So if you guys have any suggestions that would be awesome. I will say some of my favorites are Gurren Lagann and Darker than Black (One for being serious, the other because it is anything but.) I know most of the general, popular animes and have watched some of them (Soul Eater, Death Note, Bleach) and even some I've gotten from looking at this fourm (Whoever recommended Katanagatari thanks!) So any recommendations for some good lesser known or cult classic animes would be awesome!

Oh, and the anime's that I'm currently watching (got a few trying to catch up to others): Chaos;Head, Deadman Wonderland, S-Cry-Ed (Haven't started that one), Mahou Shujo Madoka Magica, and the last season of Yu Yu Hakusho (Remembered that as a kid) And thanks again for helping.

Oh and while we are on Eva, I would like to say I watched that, and I would say I was new to anime when I watched it, I really liked the show. I actually did not find shinji 'emo' or anything like that. I will say that the last few episodes certanly what I expected, but I liked the last 20 so I didn't complain. If I found the past 20 episodes fun but didn't enjoy the last few why should I complain?

Oh and that was a great explanation on eva The Damned.

  6. I'm in the group right now, just had a good race with Ben/Hylian lemon. We need to get more peeps up in here! :P

Oh, did someone beat me to a skype group? If so give me a hollar! My skype is unstablehamster.

Edit: or maybe you be talking about the Group in the game, which I joined, then decided to freeze on me when I got a new kart.
