I got invites to OiNK, but I turned them down; P2P is a great way to get sued, even if it's "private."
All you people who had accounts there better hope the guy didn't store logs.

Oh, Amon Amarth. Why didn't you say so?
I made a bunch of small changes and compressed the kick, bass and vox, panned the guitars (rhythm hard left and right, and leads about 35% each side of center for that Iron Maiden-like "duelling guitars" sound near the end. Cleaned up some of the noises between notes. EQ. I plan to work on the vox more, but I'm trying to learn how to apply effects to just part of a wav in CuBase. It's easy in Audition, but I got tired of Audition's bugs and lack of support for half my effects, so I kicked it to the curb.
Could you possibly separate the drums and bass into two separate midis? I want to import the drums directly into FLS so I can swap the sounds with BFD, and I only need the bass to get note data so I can play it live. Thanks.

Dude, did you speed this up... like, a LOT? HAhahahAHA! It's funny dude! My voice is way higher and everything. LOL!
Oops. The files are at 44KHz and I work in 48KHz in Cubase...good thing you pointed it out!
Try the link again. I converted it back down. I got the midi too, thanks.

I haven't done much with it yet, just the basics. When you get a second could you upload the drum midi? Thanks.

Pretty much anything from Dune (the band, not the movie).

"Nazi Punks Fuck Off" by the Dead Kennedys is pretty fast at ~240bpm, but the Napalm Death cover is even faster.

recently we've been accused of being "businesslike" or "corporate", which is laughable in one sense since fiscally we'd have the worst business model imaginable, giving everything away, etc., but we ARE trying to get more exposure, pursue conventions and events, etc. in an orderly fashion, which takes both time and money, unfortunately...
It's your site, and if whiners don't like it they can go to another videogame remix site. I say "all of the above" as far as ad placement goes.
-steve
PS: when you have an IPO, then I'll be concerned about the site being too businesslike.

I compressed the files down to about 200MB. If anyone's confused by the .tar.gz extension, WinRar definitely handles it and WinZip should as well.

Why don't you let us both work on it and choose the one you like better, since it's your remix? I think Sixto and I are both adult enough not to get our feelings hurt if we lose out.
I'll PM you the FTP info, then you can PM Sixto and I when you're done uploading and he can just leech the files from me.

PS: The production on Phalanx did suck even though I worked on it forever, but it was pretty old. The one I have up now is available at http://neutronstar.org/music/Steve_Pordon-Undying-Lizbeth's_Reawakening.mp3

so you are committing disasters in a page of anothers persons, so if you are asking justice
We are asking great justice. Main disaster turn on.

I beat you to the death metal thing by several years.
(And another one in judging.)
But anyhoo, I can do your bass and production work if you want. Although my bass is just guitar with pitch and formant transposition, so you could probably do that part yourself.
Let me know if you want to do it and I'll set up an FTP account for you to transfer wav (or FLAC) files.

Amazing game. I was cracking up most of the way through.

I don't think it's been explicitly mentioned here, but FLS has an upgrade path. Buying Express now and moving up to, say, XXL later costs the same as buying XXL now. If you want to try it out but you aren't sure, get the demo. If you like the demo but aren't sure if you'll use the piano roll right away (shame if you don't), get Express. And so forth.

AKG K240S here.
And HDPHX (http://refinedaudiometrics.com/products-hdphx.shtml) to compensate for the lack of proper crossover delays which you get with real monitors.

To answer your question, the lead tone sounds good, but slightly out of tune right at the beginning. Is that because you doubled it with a synth line?
The guitar work reminds me of In Flames when they didn't suck.

I only have one router at the moment.
My bad. I'll call Hooked on Phonics for a quick refresher course.

You could have figured this out by now strictly through trial and error.
I'm not giving you an answer, though, because it's a really bad idea to patch a wireless router into your home network unless you know what you're doing from a security standpoint.

Yes, SOC's the guy I'd go to for chiptune info.
I'm going to guess Fairlight intro.

I liked the victory song, but you could really throw it into happy hardcore territory by cranking up the tempo and inserting some whacky vocal samples. The song reminded me of a Parodius song with a FF melody, as played by Dune.
I didn't like the other two. Piano samples are too dry and cut off too soon (there should be at least some overlap on most of those notes). I don't listen to Nobuo these days, but all three songs don't stray very far from the source music if I recall correctly.

Also, google "acapellas" and "remix packs" and start downloading.

FAIL, NOOB!
I mostly liked the arrangement, but I agree that the bitcrushing was a little much. I'd rather see some clean drums come in for busy parts starting with the snare breakdown at 1:38 (and the one that follows ~9 seconds later), to lead back into the perfect drum part/effects at 3:33. As it is, the whole track sounds like it's covered in static due to the drum effects. I also didn't like the Vanguard-ish synth at around 2:45 (it was fine the first time, but felt a little repetitive here).

I like this idea a lot, and it sounds like a promising start.
Schubert is my favorite composer, and I love Ave Maria, but for some damn reason I had absolutely no idea he's the one who wrote it. Amazing.

Holy old news, Batman!
I blame synthtopia for making me think this was just released.

It turns out it's even easier in CuBase. Yeah, blow me, Audition. Get the hell off my hard drive.
