Bundeslang replied to Bundeslang's topic in Competitions
Nice site. Can you post a download link here, then I will post it on the ThaSauce PRC 211 page to make it an official PRC Bonus Mix with my admin powers:)!! And your vote was in, it let Evktalo break his last place wooden spoon in two parts, to give one part to JerryTerry. -

It's results time. The votes are in. Total number of mixes - 4 Total number of votes - 5 Maximum Score - 18. Evktalo and JerryTerry both received several point. The double first place only equalized Evktalo with JerryTerry, he now even has to share the the last place wooden spoon. Sggod89 claimed 11 points and the second place. And the winner is Hakstock with 14 points. Congratulations Hakstock, a very nice PRC start. Voting was absolutely not straightforward, many different first place votes and not a big difference between first and last place. One remark, Evktalo and Sggod89 both got a third place extra because Kaeso didn't fill in the third place. Hakstock, you may select the next source for PRC212. Send your source to me by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Do that as soon as you can, but before Friday. Remember to select a source with a MID file added. You may also select a source without a MID, but then you must provide a second source with a MID file. You may select any source from any game, as long as it doesn't have an Overclocked Remix and it hasn't been on PRC before. Check it at the list: http://sites.google.com/site/bambombim/prc http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc (also downloadable via the link above). The People's Remix Competition 211 PRCv9-03 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! After another tie in PRC209, the remixer had two sources to select in PRC211. DjMokram claimed victory, but this time he didn't let someone else have victory as well. So only one source this round. This round's source is selected by DjMokram: *Wonderboy III - the Dragon's Trap http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wonder_Boy_III:_The_Dragon%27s_Trap is a true gem for the Sega Master System and my absolute favorite game of the 8-bit era. A game so ahead of its time in fact, that unbeknownst to the masses, it created the metroidvania genre before either of these two franchises. Sporting a colorful presentation, large and detailed sprites, revolutionary game mechanics, tight controls, a vast world to explore with hidden treasures to find, as well as a jaw-dropping soundtrack composed by Shinichi Sakamoto, The Dragon's Trap is a one of a kind videogame masterpiece that has stood the test of time. The biggest challenge was to pick only ONE source. Thankfully, every song has strong melodic content, so I let the nostalgia do the rest... *SIDE-CRAWLER'S DANCE!* Source: Wonderboy III - The Dragon's Trap (SMS) - Side Crawler's Dance MID Youtube ThaSauce link: Click here to submit. When you are not able to login, don't click on the 'click here to submit an entry' button, but click on the 'you are not logged in' button on the right top of the screen. GOOD LUCK! PRC instructions Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6 MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed (only as Bonus Mixes). Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by MONDAY FEBRUARY 6th 2012 at 10:59 am ThaSauce time: check my signature (below) or the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. You are free to create a second ThaSauce account for that, it's needed to be able to upload a second remix. You can post it in the thread if that doesn't work. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. The winner of last round can take part by submitting a bonus mix, but he cannot win the round and get any votes. Doulifee's PRC Archives! For information about the previous contests.

Yes you are the first one. The reason is that in normal situations (with no double winners) it is not possible to win three in a row because the winner of a round is not allowed to enter the next one. But because some ties appeared (and winners are allowed to remix the source from the other) you where able to enter (and win) three in a row. Because this time you claimed all the first place votes, you cannot win four in a row, because next round you only may enter with a bonus round (so you cannot win).

It's results time. The votes are in. Total number of mixes - 4 Total number of votes - 6 Maximum Score - 18. Chroxic did a nice one, and received some points by several voters, six points is not enough to escape the last place wooden spoon. Zerothemaster was in the race for second place till the end, but with 10 points he is only one point away from that, but it's enough to claim the third place. Evktalo received only one point more as Zerothemaster, but that's enough to end second, with 11 points. And the first three PRC's in a row winner ever is DJ Mokram by unanimous decision, 18 points. Congratulations DJ Mokram, you are not only the first one who wins three PRC's in a row, but you are also the first one who ever came in the position to do that:lol:. To stay relaxed under that pressure is a big prestation. The concurrention was big as well, but Chroxic, Evktalo and Zerothemaster couldn't beat you (again). You know how it works, you may select the next source for PRC211. Send your source to me by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Do that as soon as you can, but before Friday. Remember to select a source with a MID file added. The People's Remix Competition 210 PRCv9-02 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! After a tie in PRC208, PRC209 ended in a tie again. Sggod89 and DjMokram both received three first place votes and they claimed the three points voting bonus as well. Evktalo could only watch and see DjMokram and Sggod89 win this round. This means again two sources. Source 1 is selected by Sggod89 Hey, My choice for the next source is the Mantra theme from Faxanadu (NES). /Ira Source 2 is selected by DjMokram: Here's my source pick for Round #210: *Dessert Factory from Castle of Illusion* on the Sega Master System, yet another platforming gem for Sega's 8-bit home console. The game soundtrack by Tokuhiko Uwabo features very unique compositions that ooze with adventure and were ahead of their time. This is one Mickey game that really deserves some time in the spotlight imho. Source 1: Faxanadu (NES) - Mantra Theme MID Source 2: Castle of Illusion (SMS) - Dessert Factory MID You may select one of these songs, or remix both sources in one track. DJ Mokram and Sggod89 may remix each others source. ThaSauce link: Click here to submit. It's results time. The votes are in. Total number of mixes - 3 Total number of votes - 6 Maximum Score - 18. Evktalo did well, but not well enough to not win the last place wooden spoon with ten point And the winners are DJ Mokram and Sggod89 with 16 points. Congratulations DJ Mokram and Sggod89, you both won this round. Each of you may select the next source for PRC210. The People's Remix Competition 209 PRCv9-01 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! After a couple of bad rounds, last PRC was a very good one with six songs. DJ Mokram remixed the source of PRC207 and got a bonus but it was only enough to equalize Binweasel. Every song received some points last round. Now it's time for a new season, already the nineth. Source 1 is selected by DJ Mokram Hey Bundeslang, here's my source pick for Round #209: The game has already been covered in both OCR and PRC, but luckily, the source in question has not. Not ashamed to say it's proly my favorite Sonic game, even over the awesome Genesis ones. It's sad that not many people know about this one because it's super fun and the music is fantastic imo. Here's hoping that another underrated game and its soundtrack gets some love thanks to the PRC. Cheers Source 2 is selected by Binweasel: Desert Land Daphira from Bahamut Lagoon for the SNES! And since the midi is a little terrible: Source 1: Sonic 2 (SMS) - Underground Zone MID Source 2: Bahamut Lagoon (SNES) - Desert Land Daphira MID You may select one of these songs, or remix both sources in one track. DJ Mokram and Binweasel may remix each others source. ThaSauce link: Click here to submit. When you cannot visit the ThaSauce page (and get an amazing movie of Emma Watson, you probably are using Internet Explorer. Try to open the page a few times, or use a different browser (like Google Chrome or Firefox). That should work. When you still have the problem, it's fine to upload the song somewhere else and post a link in this thread (and vote by sending me a PM). Sorry, but ThaSauce seems to be not able to solve this problem. GOOD LUCK! PRC instructions Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 6 MB or less in size. Four songs, really nice and still two days left!! After this round, PRC starts with PRC209 in the usual style. The winner of this round may select the source. One important change, a MID of the source must be included. The winner also may select a source without a MID file. But in that case, he or she must select a second source with a MID file, because rounds without a MID are almost always rounds with <2 songs. In that case, remixing the source without a MID will be awarded with one bonus point. I hope this small change brings many good rounds. After the voting stage of this rounds, which will end Tuesday 27nd of December, the winner has a maximum of three days to select the source so the next rounds starts after voting as soon as possible, but before Friday. I might do something with Facebook as well, I'm not sure about that.
-
If anyone wants to remix a song with a source that has been covered already, it's fine for this round, especially when it's an almost 10 year old OC-Remix. But please don't come up with sources with already has 10+ remixes (like Ice Cap, MM3 Intro, MM2 Wily Stage etc.). But I encourage not remixed songs.
-
I'm currently thinking about the future of the contest. I'll take some time for that. When PRC continues normally, the start of PRC209 will be next year. The concept of PRC is already going on for eight years, so changing the concept means that it is not a PRC competition any more. Changing the concept is not an option, in that case I prefer starting a new contest above PRC in a different style. This means that there's a possibility that this is the last PRC I'm doing, but I'm not sure about that. Main reason for probably stopping PRC at this moment is that there's a big possibility that in the future more rounds with no songs will appear, and I don't want the contest to die in that way. I prefer stopping now as seeing that. If I decide to stop it, but you want it to continue, you are free to take the contest over and continue it, but only if the concept doesn't change. For this round, the deadline moves with two weeks, new deadline will be Wednesday 21st of December. Next week I'll decide what I'm going to do with the PRC.
-
I hope at least some songs appear. I'm thinking about the future of this contest, since PRC204 not many songs appeared. Still, I want to continue the contest, because in the past it happened before that there where circa five rounds with only one song. But last round for the first time a PRC happened without any songs, and even in an anniversary edition, no songs before the last day of that round are up. I might extend the deadline of this round with a few weeks and start the next PRC round next year. When more rounds appear with not any songs in the next year, I might consider to put the contest on a stop (because I don't have an overflow of time as well). If anyone has great ideas, let me know. Something must happen.
-
Thanks for reporting, it's fixed now. Time is a big issue for many (including me). I hope there are still some people who find some time. PRC203 was the last PRC with a voting stage.

The People's Remix Competition 208 PRCv8-26 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! Last PRC was probably the worst ever. No songs, no bonus mixes and no winner. Time for Revenge. This PRC is an anniversary edition, already the eight in the PRC history. Free Round All songs are allowed as source this PRC, except songs which has an OC Remix, and songs which has been covered on PRC before. There's one exception, the source of last PRC, Warlords III: Darklords Rising - Final Victory. If you remix that, you even get a three points bonus. Of course remixing a different source is fine, but you don't get the bonus in that case. Alex Smith is allowed to do this as well. The source list for PRC182 still counts, you can find it at http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/PRC182 Check if the sources are covered on OCR/PRC, if that's the case the source is not allowed (so Maga Man IV (GB) - Dr. Wily's Stage 1 is not allowed) ThaSauce link: Click here to submit.
