I was debating doing "An Overclocked Christmas: Volume 2" this year, except instead of traditional Christmas remixes, I was thinking about going with more "snowy, wintery" kind of tracks from some of our favorite games. An example would be Blizzard Buffalo's theme from Mega Man X3.
Not all of us live in the northern hemisphere. On Christmas day I'll be enjoying a barbecue in the sun with a nice cool beer in my hand.

I'm in class at the moment, so no torrenting for me.
Regardless, congratulations on this great achievement guys!

Sounds awesome, kind of wish i could be there.
Seconded. Definitely record your set and post it, and photos!
Wish stuff like this happened around my neck of the woods.

Awesome work dude! I've been looking at doing a similar mod (XBMC, rather than XDSL).
If there is any more documentation you can provide, it'd be great

As always, thanks very much G-T.
*biggest fan*

I most definitely want to see both LAME encoded V0 mp3s and FLAC files in the torrent.

I rebuilt my PC this week (new mobo/cpu/ram/gfx card) and it's all running quite nicely.
However, for some reason unbeknownst to me, I can't access shared files on my dad's PC anymore. I can access shared files on my sister's PC and dad's laptop though.
Any ideas on what might have caused this change? I kinda feel like the reason is right under my nose but I can't see it. >__>
EDIT: I remembered my dad has the latest Norton suite installed. Seems all I had to do was add an exception in the firewall.

Yeah, that's a decent upgrade if that's your price range. If you've got a bit more cash to spare, then you can't go past a 4850 or 4870 (4870 X2 if you've got lots of spare cash)
I can appreciate if you've only got a little spare money; I myself just upgraded from a 7600GS to 8600GT this week. It was a bit frustrating, cos I was going from AGP to PCIe and had to get new (second-hand) mobo/cpu etc too. Hopefully Santa will be good to me this Christmas.
The 7600 was a decent card back in it's day, but yeah- definitely time for an upgrade

Done and done. There didn't seem to be many quantitative questions, so I'll be interested to see how this is collated.

I don't think I've ever heard that Duke Nukem or Ducktales theme.
Also, I'm surprised to see Gangplank Galleon from DKC, instead of Jungle Groove or Aquatic Ambiance and Wily 1 instead of one of the other Mega Man 2 boss themes.

Razor sharp playing cards as an alternative to the classic "throwing knife" in FPSes.
You can find this in American McGee's Alice.

Question.
What genre then are you allowed to take 'uber-seriously'?
Cuddlecore. Nerdcore. Nu metal.
Also, everyone listen to G-T's mixes. He does some fine work. It's thanks to him and someone posting Above & Beyond's album Tri-State in Unmod a few years ago that I understand and appreciate the genre now.
He's right when he says OCR trance isn't very good trance. That's not to say that trance-styled remixes on the site aren't worth listening to, but they certainly aren't by any means in the league of producers such as Above & Beyond or Armin van Buuren.

I played through Wario Land and Pokemon Red/Gold countless times as a kid. I played through Resident Evil 4 repeatedly for quite some time too.
Now I just play lots and lots of CoD4 online.

Awesome. Really awesome.
I don't remember the exact details, but I vaguely remember the OneUps being on hiatus a while ago or something? Any details there, and can we expect a Volume 3 to come?

I'm seeing Opeth tonight. FUCK YEAH SEAKING.
... sorry, couldn't resist >__>

Nice work guys, keep it up.

That's true. Cattle Decapitation, perhaps contrary to their name might indicate, have lots of lyrics about vegetarianism (as all the members are vegan or something?)
As for genre splitting, it's useful to an extent. Same goes for genres of electronic music. House is different to breakcore is different to goa is different to ambient is different to trance is different to breaks.

I'm not entirely sure where things fit into genres exactly here, or if they do it all/whether it really matters... but in this area of music, I don't mind a bit of Nile, Cattle Decapitation or Cannibal Corpse occasionally. I like some melodic death too(Amon Amarth, Dark Tranquility), but lately I've been listening moreso to progressive stuff, like Opeth and Porcupine Tree.

Cool video... wish there was something about scenes outside America, though.

Anybody here play from other continents/regions?
I'm in Aus; would it be worth participating, or too laggy?

My local video store considers Twilight Princess an 'overnight new release' rental, so to answer the question: No.

Things that I'd like to see from Nintendo (though likely won't happen) include
-Pikmin 3 for Wii
-A Pokemon MMO (no, really)
-an overhauled online system (the lag in Brawl is unbearable and the friend code system is clumsy. There's GOT to be a change before next gen =/ )
-Support from more small devs for WiiWare/some innovative new titles
-Decent pricing and release dates in Australia (if you're unaware, even though our dollar almost matches the US dollar, most games still release at the $100 mark. The VC is another matter again...)
I'd also like to see ports/remakes/sequels of a few old games, including the likes of Tetrisphere and Wetrix.
I'm intrigued about this whole 'xbox motion sensor' thing...

I hardly think 'good English' is a requirement for popular music in Western countries. ("The Way I Are", anyone?)
I don't understand why most stuff from Hospital Records doesn't make it into the mainstream either. Tracks such as System by Nu:Tone are as sexy as any other pop tune, and Danny Byrd's new track Weird Science is awesome, catchy fun with a great electro-style breakdown. What's not to love?
It's simply a matter of money. If a major label doesn't back something, then there's almost no chance of it breaking into the mainstream.

Not sure if anyone else is getting this error, but I noticed about 12 hours ago http://bt.ocremix.org/announce is presenting the error 'Tracker sending invalid data: <NULL>.' (This appears in the Trackers tab in uTorrent. I'm using version 1.8.1)
The number of peers is currently displayed as '-112'.
Not sure if this is actually having an adverse effect, but I thought I should make sure just in case.
