So I just tried using samples in my music for the first time, only to find out I have zero clue how to use them. Whatever I make is garbage, I cant get a simple instrument out of the songs provided for the life of me. I want to take a muted trumpet sound from an old 1920's song I got with a sample pack, but it just isn't working. My second issue is that I cant figure out for the life of me how Reaper even works. Ive been using LMMS this whole time, and in Reaper I cant seem to find anywhere any means to even use a sf2 file. I need help with all of this, I expected to have a fun time learning today but now I just feel stressed and depressed.
I've been playing Pokemon Red again, since it was rereleased for the virtual console for the 20th anniversary. The Pokemon soundtrack has always been one of my favourites, but as I was replaying it, I thought, "wouldn't this music sound great being played by a string group." I decided to give arranging the Celadon City theme for strings a go. This is just a sample extract of the main A section of the piece, but I feel like I should let other people hear it before I do too much work on it, in case it turns out to be a waste of time. Many of you don't know me but lately I've been working on my first ep called "Static" there's no message in it except for the blatant pictures such as distortion and tv static but that's about it. What you will be mostly hearing is detune and slight white noise sounds and the kicks in song are like syrup so it also sounds good the ear. So let me know what you guys think, I only have four songs to make out of ten and I'm mostly made these songs from scratch and a little sampling, so yes my head hurts when coming up with crazy ideas in these songs.
