DorIImaA
I've been working on this, on and off, for quite some time, and I think I'm finally getting it somewhat to where I want it, but I'd still like some comments and criticism. It is a remix of Final Fantasy X-2's "Eternity - Memories of Lightwaves." My title, however, is a working title, which I'm growing less and less fond of by the day. Regardless, it's about time I reinvigorated it with a bit of outside influence, so tell me what you think (and if I need to rehost it elsewhere). Rozovian
This would be the perfect song to play when I'm trying to sleep on the bus. Seriously, this is cool. Nice background sounds, one sounds like a vocoded... something. The remix is varying. It's simplistic, but not bad. Really enjoyable. The guitar could need some more velocity variation, but that's about all I can say at this point. And from around 3:00 forth... great. I was typing, didn't see the timecode... That was just perfect, perfect ending. No big grande finale, just... an ending. Fitting perfectly with the song. The judges might disagree, but that's probably because the submission standards dictate more foreground-oriented music. Still worth fixing up a bit and submitting. I dunno how much of this is straight from source and how much isn't. I'm too lazy to find out. That's something you know better. I've got nothing to say about the production side of it either, it sounds good to me, but production isn't my forte. Overall, this is a highly enjoyable background tune, but not as much as a foreground one. Whether that needs to be fixed or not to get a YES from the judges I don't know, but it's really enjoyable already.
DorIImaA
No big grande finale, just... an ending. Haha. Thanks. Just about everyone else who has sampled the song seems to think it needs a grandiose finale, but I've stuck to the one I have simply because it doesn't distract from the relaxed nature of the rest of the song while still creating an obvious finality. Skrypnyk
Two things this could use to make it sound bitchin: Better samples & better production. The guitar lacks any fret movement which makes it sound stale. The piano's lo end is quite difficult to make out. Several other samples sound thin. You could probably make better use of panning. The bass(pad?) that eventually comes in really makes the low muddy. The arrangement is nice, so I don't think that's much of a problem. So yea, it can get there, it just needs more work.
