Lunahorum Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 I heard about nuendo and cubase in the protools thread. I looked on the steinberg site, but there was no clear explanation. I thought maybe nuendo was a mastering program, but then I saw it also had midi and audio tracks. Is nuendo a step up / step down from cubase or are they different products or what? Thanks. Quote
Tensei Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Step up, about $300 bucks up from Cubase SX iirc. I think one of the touted features was the ability to edit your music to video clips and a lot of support for 5.1 Surround sound stuff. Quote
tgfoo Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Nuendo has a lot of features that make it more useful if you're dealing with a lot of video or doing post production type work. Really, if you're just doing music it's overkill. And it's 900-1000 bucks more expensive. If you google "Cubase vs. Nuendo", there are tons of discussions about the differences to be found. Quote
SnappleMan Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Same exact core software, only difference is that Nuendo comes with more support for movie editing, more surround support, and better overall compatibility and is generally more stable in more fucked up environments. That and it has a fancier looking UI, which is why they charge just under $2000 for it Quote
