Malcos
This had an interesting thing going on...until 0.40 when that synth came in, and literally made my back crawl...eugggghhhh. And then...you know what, I just don't like this guys choice of synths. The arrangement is good, percussion was good, etc. This is a good first submission, but the choice of synths was not appropriate for the mix IMO. Protricity
Those hard synths kill the beat and the accompany. Its a very poor instrument choice. Those synths singlehandedly ruined the song as far as I'm concerned. NO Other than that, the melody was pretty simplistic. The notes were way crowded together. Work on the arrangement aspect and instrument choice.
Digital Coma
Yeah, distorted synths ruin this one. Repetitive progression and forgettable melody don't help. NO
m68030
You know i really hate sitting here listening to a neat little intro and reading "Was really cool up to :40 when the lead came in" and watch the counter on winamp go 35... 36.... 37... 38.. knowing that something that made someone's backcrawl is about to happen... especially when I'm digging the arrangement thus far. I'm gonna have to agree though.. those synths are just not what my ears want to hear over the rest of this very stereotypically MOD sounding remix. Like I've said before on other tracks, i absolutly *heart* S3Ms and MODs and all that good stuff and that mod style of arrangement really does have a special place in my mind... i wish we had a few more tracks that combined favorite game tunes with that nostalgic sound of an S3M. This track does that quite well, but really needs a different lead synth selection before I'll smile about it. NO
