E_maN
Hi! We've just finished our 2nd medley with No Miss and now we want some feedback on it. The new medley is called "Insert Coin" and it's a shootermedley with a song list that can be found on http://www.myspace.com/nomissmusic at the biography section. On our myspace you can also find our first medley "Battle Scar" which is a RPG medley, or download it from the link below. http://www.oktv.se/hemsida/emil.ekberg/no_miss_-_insert_coin.mp3 http://www.oktv.se/hemsida/emil.ekberg/no_miss_-_battle_scar.mp3 there you guys got download links Some feedback on the mix/mastring and arrangement would be nice! Hope you'll like it!
SplinterOfChaos
Insert Coin: Needs more energy. The percussions could use a little more umph. Pretty good, arrangement wise. The song at the end...I recognize it...but from where? Battle Scar: Starting well off. More of a cover than a remix. Again, it needs more energy. This is some really good stuff. I think mastering is its only real problem.
Eino Keskitalo
I love that monstrous, noisy bass sound. That said, it could switch to non-distorted, softer/fuller/bassier sound every now and then, to give room to the guitars. That would then make it even more monstrous when it kicks back in, and (perhaps counter-intuitively) increase the energy level of the track overall. The arrangement on the other instruments might have to respond accordingly. I like the bookend chip parts in Insert Coin. The lead work in the beginning of Battle Scars isn't cutting it for me. Not enough energy, groove-wise it's not in the pocket, it sounds cautious.. you know? Overall, Insert Coin feels a lot tighter and energetic. I think it gets better towards the end in BS but early impressions are important. I have to say I love that bit at 00:43! This is also a huge compliment: this isn't a genre I generally like, but I like Insert Coin anyway. So you are definitely doing something right. --Eino

Insert Coin: what's the "umph" you're talking about? more punch? well i can give you a hint: In A.D. 2101, War was beginning. if you cant figure it out just google that part Battlescar: Well our way to think about our songs are that we want to make them close to the original, but yet heavy and more... metal, so we dont arrange them THAT much, but some parts. i hope you understand the direction of our vision better now and both of you, spread the word! send it to people, we want some more comments on our myspace so add us or something and again, Thanks for both of your opinions! SplinterOfChaos
what's the "umph" you're talking about? more punch? Have you percussionist hit the cymbals as hard he can, just once. Listen to that on your computer, but low enough your ears don't bleed. BANG! That's what I mean. Combine that with the rest of your music and METAAL. EDIT: Maybe snares are better for this. Point is: want sharper percussions.
SnappleMan
I'm digging everything except the ridiculous bass tone.
