Allivian Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Hello everyone... I'm 19 and a bass player and have been playing bass for 3 years now I also play guitar and have recently got into piano. While no master I consider myself a competent player and am always looking for ways to broaden my... musical horizon; I guess that'd be the best way to explain it. Where I'm getting at is I recently picked up Reason & an M-Audio Axiom 61 Key. The program loaded with the default samples and thousands more. What programs do you use? Anything in particular I should know about writing this type of music? What are some tricks with reason in order to get more control from my sound? (It's supposed customization was the reason why I got it) I listen to these remixes and I could go on about the level of depth involved in the pieces. I just need tips on how to work Reason or what else should I get. Cause remixes would be fun to do at some point but im mainly looking to compose original work. Something along the lines of Ambient/Breakbeat/Chill-Out So if you read this and have the time to post a response advice or otherwise id be grateful. AIM: IzDatBattletoads
m68030 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 We've got an entire subforum dedicated to helping people learn/refine/expand their musical writing and remixing skills, including a sub-subforum for Reason. You'll probably find a lot of helpful information there.
