zircon Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 I just reinstalled my operating system and my favorite media player, Winamp 2.95. However, for some reason it's now displaying all of my tagless songs as "-" on the playlist, instead of "filename" (which it should be doing - and was, on my last Windows install.) I can't find the option for this anywhere. Halp! Quote
kitty Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Well I don't have Winamp 2.95, but I know in Winamp 5.xx that option is under General Preferences > Titles. Quote
jmr Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Just out of curiosity, why are you using Winamp 2? Winamp 5 with the classic skin (which is what I use) looks and behaves essentially the same as the older version. Quote
Liontamer Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Preferences > Plug-ins > Input > Nullsoft MPEG Audio Decoder 2.96+AAC > Configure > Title/Tags > Title Formatting Default > %7 (i.e. File Name) If that doesn't work, dunno what else it would be. Just out of curiosity, why are you using Winamp 2? Winamp 5 with the classic skin (which is what I use) looks and behaves essentially the same as the older version. 2's not bloated. Quote
zircon Posted October 22, 2009 Author Posted October 22, 2009 Thanks, Larry. And yeah, Winamp 2 runs WAY better and faster than the latest version. Edit: OK, now the problem is that if I change the display to filename, my properly-tagged MP3s don't display the artist/title like they should. The problem is that tons of my MP3s have ONE tag (like date, or encoded with...) but not artist/title, so I guess Winamp reads them as having a tag anyway. Is there a way to get it to display filename IF and ONLY IF there is no artist + title? This is definitely how my old Winamp 2 was set up, and I don't remember how I did it. Quote
