Some Dubstep

A quick first attempt at some dubstep. I'll end up making a dubstep-themed remix soon, but before that, I wanted to just play around with some original stuff. Thoughts?

First of all, you need to listen to more dubstep to really "hear" what that filth is supposed to sound like.

It's all about the automation of filters, pitches, and heavy, crazy distortion.

Then it's all about sampling. Export your basslines and cut them up, process them again - then do it again.

Same thing for the drums, and melodies.

It takes time, but you sound like you're on your way. What I'd recommend is trying to replicate a dubstep song that you really like - figure out how you can do that; then do it yourself.

1. Filter automation, I can do that relatively... Okayish. So just play with random filters, pitch bends... And distortion - just run it through a stompbox (Reason 4's Scream 4 Distortion is what I use), or layer it and make it fat like that? Tips, etc...?

2. Export and process? Like repeated copy-paste?
