OceansAndrew Posted December 23, 2010 Author Posted December 23, 2010 The arrangement of this is pretty good (especially the really well done math-metal section), but the production isn't quite cutting it. The drums sound pretty weak, and a lot of the track sounds overcompressed. When the clean guitars come in over the prog section, they sound pasted on top of the track. The guitar rhythm tone is also a little weak and overly heavy on the high-mids. It's especially noticeable in the prog section, where while played really tightly, it just sounds kindof thin. Performances all around are solid, with some very nice guitar playing, but you'll need to beef up your drums without resorting to too much compression. This is a close call, but the production issues need to be addressed. No, please resubmit
DragonAvenger Posted December 26, 2010 Posted December 26, 2010 Andrew's right on this. Arrangement is sounding good, but the production kills this. Drums are weak, and the sounds aren't blending well together. Along with that, the overcompression is also very noticeable. Fix that stuff up, and I think this will be good to go. NO (resubmit)
anosou Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 If Zubareus is both your remixer name and remix name, change that. Performance here is nice and the arrangement is pretty good as has been pointed out. The production, on the other hand, isn't quite there yet. Your guitars sound a bit muffled (lead especially) and the drums are pretty weak, especially considering what you're going for. The kick drum, while weak sample-wise, is quite overpowering. Try to get some more punch but make sure not everything ducks every time it hits! This needs some more work before I could comfortably pass it but it's not far from there. Keep at it! NO(resubmit)
