This gonna leave you with not enough source to pass. Otherwise it's repetitive. I would try to play a little with the melody. Good luck ^^. Quote
Phonetic Hero Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Agreed. I actually like the bit of variation with the melody that you already have, but it could be expanded a lot. The samples aren't really my bag either, I feel like they could be improved pretty easily. This is a pretty repetitive source to mix, but it's still got some phrases you can play with. I'd recommend listening to some of Mazedude's stuff, he's made entire mixes out of 4 bar phrases (I'm thinking of The Wily Malfunction, specifically). Check him out for some extra inspiration. I'm a big fan of FF8, so I'm quick to be critical of mixes from the game. Don't be discouraged though, keep at it! Quote

And personally I like long build ups, I like the mix, but it has to hit way harder than that when it does @ the end of that long @$$ intro, it was a bit of a let down when the melody comes in.
