AngelCityOutlaw Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Why is it that whenever I have distortion going and I palm mute, I get a retarded amount of boom? I've lowered the pick ups, sweeped around with an eq, and even completely rolled off all the bass on the amp and it makes absolutely no difference. If I use a clean channel, then use an amp sim, it doesn't happen. I don't want to use amp sims though. Guitar by itself http://soundcloud.com/angelcityoutlaw/test You can hear how it sounds in a song here http://soundcloud.com/angelcityoutlaw/rooftop-rumble-demo Why? Some people tell me it doesn't bother them but I dunno..... Quote
zircon Posted August 29, 2011 Posted August 29, 2011 Proximity effect from having your mic too close to the amp, maybe? I don't see the problem though. It sounds great. Just EQ it in the mix if you have an issue (not that I'm hearing one.) Quote

This^ also you never stated if this is the sound comming from your amp or the sound you get after your mic, because if all is good on your amp, its def not your guitar set-up. Quote
