Hoooo boy, that's some excessively loud stuff there! Wow, dial the volume down, homey. The drums were alright, though the lead was very robotically sequenced, as well as the vox. Definitely some poor separation of sounds, as the drums, vox, strings, and so forth all mushed together. The track looped at 1:35.

The production was a mess, the timing and tempo were exactly the same as the original indicating MIDI/NSF rippage, and the arrangement was conservative, repetitive, and vastly undeveloped at a mere 2:28-long.

You basically swapped instruments here for both the the lead and the harmony and then added a marching drumbeat (it did fit here though, to your credit). I won't quite NO Override, because you at least attempted to genuinely expand upon the original with some of the new instrumentation involved, but it's still a NO.

The vox and the intro harpsichord are way too robotic. It’s an interesting combination that might be interesting to hear performed by an experienced vocalist and harpsichord player. Some of the sustained “ahhs” towards the middle of the mix sounded good though. In general the sample quality is good but the sequencing needs some work.

There’s a decent build through 0:48 but after that, the track pretty much plateaus at a certain dynamic level and doesn’t let up. This isn’t helped by the repetition, the shortness of the track or the conservative interpretation. The percussion adds a very stately feel to the source but they aren’t enough to keep the mix engaging for long.

Keep working at it, and don’t be afraid to pull farther away from the source in future remixes.

Agreed, the main problem here is everything is so rigid and mechanical sounding. It's almost like it was sequenced perfectly without adding any humanized element. It comes off sounding too perfect and when that happens it just sounds too fake. I would work on creating more dynamics, volume rises and falls, and adding a humanized timing to everything.

Definitely some poor separation of sounds, as the drums, vox, strings, and so forth all mushed together.

There's nothing wrong with this. A lot of orchestral/etc genres of music in this vein sounds like this. Especially ones with big reverb. Massive orchestrations are often textural, for example. (Not a case here)

Overall, not bad though from a listening perspective, but needs much more arrangement, a lot more attention to the details and mix up the composition/arrangement please. Too predictable when it repeats like this. NO
