(and for me;) So here is a wip tune that I'm working on atm, its Magnet Man this time and the genre is psytrance. I think this is pretty neat start and I'm gonna aim atleast to 4min lenght with this. The overall style is quite pleasing to the ears, and sounds like something you'd hear in Extreme-G (assuming you've heard its soundtrack), especially the new section you put in (0:54-1:20). I think the transition from the aforementioned part back to the original song was a bit abrupt, but otherwise, I've got only positive things to say about it. (Actually, 1:57 to the end does sound a bit sparse, but I'm guessing that's going to be elaborated on; is that so?) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I tried to do something to 1:20, dunno if its better now @ 1:40, but I think yes. The throwback to the original with the NES-ish instrumentation is especially good. All I've got to say is to keep adding to it; listening to this mix ends up making me hungry for more. Cash Posted January 17, 2012 Share Posted January 17, 2012 Nice work, I like it! I enjoyed your synth choices. I'm not really a fan of those kick drums. I can't quite say what it is about them that bother me, but they sort of just rub me the wrong way. They sort of sound too hard, or maybe they sound too dry? Yeah, devastating is the right word. Gotta pump up the bass! -At the end, maybe hold out a note to tell the listener the song is finishing. It feels incomplete in that sense. You might wanna add some something to the last quarter or so of the song to give it a bit of a climax, maybe double the lead? Try it out and see what you get, it's not crucial in the slightest and can surely go either way. Again, just a personal thing. Besides that, I think it's pretty good. The song keeps me drawn in and doesn't stray too far from the source, but still leaves great room for original melodies and rhythms.
