Anorax
Does anyone know of any good Android MIDI Contoller apps? I don't want one of those apps that require WIFI, that defeats the purpose of getting one if I need WIFI. Are there any Android apps that you know of that can operate via USB with your computer? Darangen
If there was one, I'd think the response time would be too erroneous to be able to use it for anything.
Yami
I've also looked for something like this, before I got my MIDI controller, but there are none, at least not via USB. Why? Because Android isn't supposed to communicate via USB, exvept for debugging. You could write an app which needs a correspondend on a PC which could fetch the debug messages and translate them into MIDI commands. But this would be really dirty and of course everyone who would like to use this would have to install the Android SDK, because of the debug bridge. tl;dr No.
Rozovian
I played with a few for iOS. They were terribly slow. For something faster, see what free tools there are that turn your mouse or keyboard into a midi controller. Won't be as cool as controlling something remotely and from phone, but it'll be faster. You can probably use a bluetooth keyboard for this too, which gives you some remote control capabilities.
Moseph
GlovePIE can reinterpret pretty much any type of input as any other type of input. I use a Wiimote as a MIDI controller, for example.
Anorax
Well, I found something called TouchDAW that's actually pretty good. But it has a focus ok controlling a DAW itself, so it isn't optimized for MIDI use. It transfers MIDI data via ADB so it's practically realtime... Anorax
Someone really did this? Yep. it works like a charm, except that the only MIDI data sent is MIDI notes, not MIDI CC Which really bothers me because it's built to control a DAW, not MIDI in general. Maybe I should just wait until they build a TouchMIDI app...
