DrumUltimA Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Hey guys, I did this for DoD at Magfest this year. Would like to improve on the mixing and stuff so if you have any comments I would really appreciate them! http://dougperrymusic.com/dodokamimaster.mp3 Vibes, marimba, glockenspiel, and recorder are played live, bass and synth are played via midi keyboard, guitar and drums sequenced! Emunator Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I'll try and leave some more detailed feedback later when I get home from work, but when I listened for DoD, I really liked the mix of instruments, but the drums sounded WAY overcompressed and too loud, they seemed to drown everything else out. That's the biggest problem area from what I remember. Quote
jnWake Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 This is like Okami meets Mega Man The Recorder on the intro sounds a bit off, try to check that if possible. I agree with Emunator about the drums, they sound a bit too loud when they enter. They're more balanced later. The percussion instruments are too low in most of the song, same than the distortion guitar and recorder. At times, the percussion instruments feel a bit sloppy too. Bass and synth sound great in the mix. Nice song! Quote
