Zedd - Clarity (Kruai Remix) [Drumstep]

I'm working on a remix right now and I think the best way to categorize it would be "drumstep". However, I don't really have any experience with this genre. Can I get some feedback on what I have so far?

There were some pretty cool parts, but that chromatic ascension during the first chorus killed me. Sorry, but that part specifically was definitely not working. I'd take another listen to the parts where you deviate from the key of the vocals and get that back in line.

No need to apologize! That's the kind of advice I'm looking for (though I expected something along the line of "it's not powerful enough" haha). I'll mess around with it some and fix the DnB part in the middle because it bothers me now.

Same as OA! Otherwise this is pretty solid stuff. I like it so far.

Thanks guys! I've updated my remix with some pretty decent changes. I've changed:

-Got rid of the chromatic buildup and made it work with the actual chords

-Doubled the pluck synth at certain points

-Extended the DnB-esque section and gave it a little melody

-Balancing/sub differences

-Updated drums and uplifters

-Other small changes

Oh, I forgot to post the finished version of this. Thanks for the advice on the build, because it was pretty noisy and discordant before. Hopefully this version sounds better ^^

yeah, this is working a lot better for me; a few mixing parts where the mids get crowded, but overall it was pretty well done!

For me, I think I hear what OA's nitpick was. 1:16 vocals get pushed back behind the wubs, and it would be clearer if you automated a scoop in the mids at 1:16~2:02. You could also have done this with less pitch bend wubs.
