Just a little something I started yesterday (Posting now because it's easier getting feedback while working on the song).

I really love this soundtrack, and really hope I'm showing that love through this song well.

It's very conservative so far, but I'll do some arranging as I go.

I suppose it is pretty conservative so far, true. But it's got nice sounds, and I'm sure you're already putting lots of new stuff into it. Really liking the 9-bit sound, and the solo synth is pretty smooth. I'm looking forward to the next WIP!

I want this one on OCR, so haven't forgotten about it. Putting an update to kind of keep me accountable for this in a sense. It's just been a suuuuper crazy last month at school. My brains practically fried to the point that I'm losing all creativity D:

It's a small update. Going to lead into the bridge after it stops, and also I went crazy with sound effects. I think I might need to go crazier. Enjoy Rin's bell, too. :)

So I'm retrying this one. I have a new habit of throwing ideas around on a project rather than go beginning to end, so it's a little messy. I'm trying to figure out how to make it longer, but this might end up being the first song I actually finish in a while. If you guys have any ideas I'd like to hear them!

As a whole I think it has great potential. I think it can use something to fill in the empty parts (0:37 - 0:44, 1:00 - 1:15, 1:49 - 2:08), like a pad or arp sound. Also, the lead at 1:00-on has a modulation depth that still happens to be a little high, so it stretches across a touch too large of a dynamic range, and the bass used at 1:00 - 1:15 could be more interesting (it just sounds like a simple tone).

1:53 - 2:08 is pretty cool. I think it can be expanded upon in terms of soundscape to become a nice breakdown section. However, I think the lead notes could use more variation to sound less 'rambly' or 'meandering'; there are a lot of 16th notes in there. I also really like where 2:08 - 2:23 is going. You might want to try going for a shift into a big beat feel later on after that.

The main reason I kept the modulation so dynamic because I feel like it sounds boring and monotone without it. Ill lowe the dynamics and I think maybe I should try to pitch modulation to make it more exciting.

I'll add some more stuff to the soundscape too. I'm kind of going back and forth between the song at the moment adding things as they pop to mind.

Thanks for the advice.
