ZeldaQueen
THE PROJECT What is being worked on is The Ghost Trick Musical, sister project to the fan-made Turnabout Musical. Like Turnabout Musical, this project is entirely fan-made. The purpose is, essentially, to adapt the game Ghost Trick into a musical. The final product is not going to be performed onstage. Everything is going to be recorded, edited, and posted online. WHAT IS NEEDED: Right now, we are in need of help in two areas. Music - As of now, all of the songs have been figured out. The lyrics have been written. The music itself, however, is in dire need of work. And seeing as this is a musical project, it’s pretty important that this part get done. We are willing to experiment with a variety of styles and genres, for the music. Several songs have had vocals sung, to give an idea of what the song’s writer had in mind when they wrote it. Other than that though, anyone working on the music is free to try what they’d like, via the instruments, tempos, styles, etc and so on. Artwork - This project is not animated. It was originally intended to be a radio drama, however it was decided that to make the story easier to follow, the dialogue would be accompanied by still pictures of what’s going on. By using this method, we hope to make the project more feasible. The stills are to be drawn in the style of the video game. (If anyone is curious about how that is, there are a number of Let’s Plays on YouTube. Or, for a non-video source, you can look here .) Because of the difference in medium, the artists are encouraged to experiment with perspective, angles, expressions, and so on. DEVELOPMENT THUS FAR: The script is nearing finalization, and we hope to hold auditions soon. Without sample music of the songs though, we are unable to let people audition for specific roles. Therefore, we must hold back on that particular part until a little more of the music has been composed. When the script is finalized, we will begin work on the stills, beginning with storyboards and moving towards cleaning up and coloring them. Because the project is focused on the musical aspect, it’s more important that we’re able to complete the songs. At the very least, if the radio drama doesn’t work out in its entirety, we intend to release an album for this. There are thirty-two songs total, with only one completed as of now. The list of songs, for all who are interested, is thus: - Somewhere in this very town - World of the Dead - Egads! That's Just Plain Off! - Always One Step Ahead - World of the Dead/Fate Change (COMPLETED} - Barking: There's Not Much Else In Life - Cabanela's Baby - Musings Of A Hitman - A Strange Device - Panic Dance - Cabanela's Baby (Reprise) - Sissel's Confrontation - An Ode to Chicken - Step Right Up - Waiting for the Deal - That's What I Love About You - Flyer! Flyer! - Four Minutes to the Chair - Contradiction - Kamila's Tale - The Most Holy Of Nights/I Hate You, Mama! - The Rock and the Gods - Regret (Jowd's Version) - Confessions Of Ten Years Past - What Can Never Die - Regret (Cabanela's Version) - Almost Dawn - Just Plain Off (Reprise) - Regret (Yomiel's Version) - Final Fight - An Alternate Stream of Events/ A Bright New Future - Never Too Late PAY OR NOT?: Since the entire project is a fan-project, we unfortunately are unable to pay anyone involved. However everyone who helps will be fully credited when the project is completed. HOW MANY ARE WANTED?: Really, we have no limit in mind. As long as everyone is able to work together and lets their presence be known (we want to credit everyone, of course!), we welcome them with open arms. Even if you’re just interested in giving opinions or critiques of the work provided, we heartily encourage that, as well! TO CONTACT US: If you want to help out with the project, the best and most direct method would be to visit our website: The Ghost Trick Musical Project . It is free to create an account, and there are forums dedicated to the music and art departments. I can also be reached on the Ghost Trick Musical Project forums, also under the username ZeldaQueen. I receive alerts for private messages there, so you can contact me that way as well. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS: If there’s anything else you’d like to know about the project, please ask away!
