Hello. Kriko here! :)

Here's one of my latest recordings. It's from the game Transport Tycoon.

Since I play the piano, I've always loved this tune, so I put together a

little recording of it.

Remixers name: Kriko

Game remixed: Transport Tycoon

Didn't even name the track anything different from the source tune. Always a bad sign.

Firstly, the bitrate's too big...

Submission Instructions & Standards[/url'>]do not exceed 192Kbps

If the track's actually played, it's likely played out on MIDI keyboard but without the tedious refinement of hand-editing the notes for the performance to sound more organic. Along with the piano, the drumkit was really thin as well, leaving the soundscape pretty sparse, relatively speaking. A lot of the elements here could have been beefed up and further humanized for a much livelier sound.

But onto the more important part, the arrangement...

Submission Instructions & Standards]In terms of arrangement - how close or distant ReMixes should be to the original - the general rule is that the ReMix should be YOURS. We don't just mean that you were involved in its creation, but that it is different enough from the original so as to readily illustrate the contributions, modifications, and enhancements you have made. In other words, don't just take the original and drop a few drum loops on top. Also, don't simply take a MIDI file and assign new instruments to the parts, or add reverb, and expect that to pass as 'yours'. When we say 'ReMix', we actually mean something closer to 're-arrangement', if that helps clarify. If you listen to most of the pieces on the site and compare them to the originals, you should get an idea of what a ReMix is.

Read it, learn it, love it. The piece is a little expanded with some new parts, but that's about it, and it definitely doesn't constitute meaningful interpretation.

There were some basic instrumentation changes here - percussion was added in some spots, for example, and some notes were changed to other instruments. However, a handful of changes like that definitely aren't enough to qualify as an OC ReMix when the arrangement is virtually identical to the original in every meaningful aspect. Gotta agree with the NO OVERRIDE here.
