Comments: I have always been a fan of Tsukihime's music, and with the release of the the game's english patch in Novemeber 2006, I was finally inspired to finish this rearrangement.

Ever After: Music from Tsukihime Reproduction - (05) "Ketsubetsu"

LIGHTNING ROUND! (stolen from The Wingless)

*String movements were a bit awkward, but otherwise serviceable

*Piano accompaniment was decent, but felt pretty mechanical and plodding after a while

*Guitar and drums entering at 1:57 created an imbalanced texture with the orchestrated parts

*Guitar performance wasn't expressive

*Cymbals sizzled

*Rigid timing hampered the track's expressiveness

*Though some new ideas were there, the arrangement was fairly conservative, and many of the instrumentation and song structure ideas were basically identical to the source (e.g. supporting piano, strings)

Work on throwing further interpretation into the arrangement, making the overall sound stand apart more from the original, and sprucing up the details in the performance.

those strings are hurting right away. The attack sounds really artificial. Throughout the piece they are playing lines that are too fast for the attack. Furthermore they are too far out front and sound too harsh. The lack of a bass part is noticeable. the track sounds shrill on the whole. Lot of sonic problems need to be addressed.

at times this sounded like something an SNES would generate. to my ears anyway.

the production on this one is holding it back more than the arrangement (though the arrangement is a bit too conservative IMO). The piano sample could be improved a LOT without having to surf the net very hard. The strings are very lo-fi and Jesse is right about the attack being off.

definetly not the worst we've heard, but this isn't gonna cut it in its current state.
