KevDude55 Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 I am Looking For Some Real Nice Brass and woodwinds soundfonts...anyone got any really nice ones they are willing to share? Quote
about:blank Posted July 29, 2007 Posted July 29, 2007 For free, high quality soundfonts, Hammersound is the place to go. Their soundfont library should have everything you're looking for, and more. http://hammersound.net/cgi-bin/soundlink.pl Quote

He was looking for soundfonts that people were willing to share, so I'm assuming that he wanted free ones, or that he was on a budget. Either way, I don't see why Hammersound would be such a laughable suggestion. Quote

dannthr Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Here's some free stuff: http://www.westgatestudios.com/free_stuff.htm They're in Giga format, but I'm sure you can convert them with something. Quote

I have given up on trying to find good free samples. Some are good but most are complete shit. I have never found any good sounds at Hammersound. You can buy relatively cheap soundfonts from Sonic Implants, and they're all a hell of a lot better than any free stuff you'll find. Quote
Sou Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Yeah i agree with you. I downloaded sfs from HammerSound before but i deleted most, if not all of them. Quote
Harmony Posted August 3, 2007 Posted August 3, 2007 Unfortunately, I don’t have anything too decent in the way of brass or woodwinds. Especially if you’ve already googled for them and checked HammerSound. In defense of that site, yeah, they do have a lot of crap but it’s still a very useful resource. All of these can be found there and are, IMO, worth having on hand if you rely primarily on free samples. Yamaha DX7 Electric Piano Roland 64 Voice Piano (7mb SF that I use more than 120mb Clavinova, Maestro Concert Grand, or any other piano sample) Campbell’s Grand Xylophone Naturally Decaying Bass Guitars (very, very nice) Cadenza Strings JJ's French Horn Campbell's Thumb Piano (surprisingly expressive for its filesize) Roland Orchestral Rhythm BK Junk Kit Drum by KEN ARDENCY v2.0 Roland TD-10 "Woody" Set Acoustic Percussion Quote
