look!alive
Certain games in my library have great stories that i would like to watch again, but playing through these games just to do that is becoming less enjoyable. What I would like to do is record game footage and then edit the recordings so that I have only the story that I can watch through at a later time. There seems to be multiple devices and programs for recording and editing on the pc for these purposes, but I would like to hear recommendations from anybody on what devices/programs they think I should use in order to do this. If there is a more appropritae forum that I could post this at, let me know and I'll take this up there. Lastly, I would like to record my work to a dvd if possible, so if any ideas my ears are open. Thanks for any help.

Broken
Cam Studio is a pretty simple yet functional free recording program. I've only recently begun to use it myself.

look!alive
Thanks for the comments. One thing I think I need to note is that most of my games will be from the ps2. I think that what I'm trying to do is use the same methods as making game music vids, but to achive different results.

Pyrion
Would like to make a note on the CamStudio codec. If you're trying to install it on an x64 Windows OS and the normal "right click and select install" method isn't working, follow these instructions and simply replace the example inf at the end with the location of the CamStudio codec.
