Hausdog
Hi, I'm new here. *waves* I was just wondering if I would be in the wrong if I ripped the soundfonts from Banjo Kazooie and Tooie and used them in a mix. Thanks! EDIT: Dang. I meant soundfonts in the title. Sorry about that...
Tensei
Umm, if it's okay to sample stuff, then doing this would surely be fine too, especially if you're not commercially releasing it or anything. Not that I can imagine what you'd want to use the midi-ish Banjo-Kazooie instruments for, but hey, whatever works for you. Welcome to the forums. =)
statas
well, it depends on your viewpoint on legality. Bridgeport Music, Inc. v. Dimension Films (court case) was the ruling that all sampling was illegal unless the samples were cleared. There is a lot of gray area with regards to "fair use" and whatnot though. i sample, and i'm not ashamed about it. the real question is whether YOU feel like you are ripping something off, or making something new and (slightly) original with it. be creative and don't use it as a crutch. OverCoat
Ethical? Fuck ethics. You're not selling anything, right? Sample everything. ( ^▽^)/\(^▽^ )
