  1. This sounds a lot like it would be found on a Perfect Selection CD, and that's really saying something. GREAT job on this. Make more!!!
  2. Now this is a great track. Great samples. Very high quality. The guitar sounds very Silent Hill-like in expression. That's a definite bonus, since I love the Silent Hill soundtracks a lot (2 being my favorite). Great job on this. Really great stuff. A winner is you!
  3. No, I'm pretty sure I don't like this song at all. Production value was great, no doubt about that. I just don't think that this particular song was the right one for the given lyrics. That and this song was WAY too popish for my taste. I know some people like this happy-touchy-feely-snuggle-bunny sounding stuff, but I sure don't. To me, the original credit rolling song was all about, well, the end of a long struggle. The beginning solo track sounds rather forlorn to me. This remix clearly does not reflect that. Again, not a bad song by any means, and yes, the guy can sing. It just doesn't float my boat. I believe that there are several other remixes on this site that deserve such acclaim but only got a simple "recommended". One of the good things about this site is that ANY style of music can be submitted and appreciated while not catering to a particular taste. Kudos to the creator for doing something definitely different. It just didn't tickle my fancy. Just my $0.02.
  4. This is SO James Brown meets Blues Brothers meets Mario. UNH!!! HA!!! SO FUNKEH!!! HA!!! GET DOWN!!! KISS MAHSEFF!!! GOOD GOD!!! ... Yeah. Great job!
  5. Very nice mix!!! A little breakbeat never hurt anyone. As a side note, I have a SidStation, and the 4 available patch banks just aren't cuttin' it for me. I mean, some of them have a few nice patches here and there, but for the most part they're useless. So, I'm going to make my own. Thing is, I'd like to make the classic instruments a la Hubbard and Galway. Does anyone know of a site that shows how those instruments were programmed? I'd really like to make some banks of different composers' instruments. I'm sure I could actually take the time to figure them out, but I don't profess to be that patient. Thanks to anyone who can assist.
  6. I just listened to this remix and the original right after it. To be honest, I can't see the connection. I mean, the original had this palpable sense of loss. I'm a fan of kit and guitar, but this just didn't do it for me. Not saying that the mix is bad by any means, because it's quite good. It just feels out of place with the mood of the game, in my opinion. I just can't make the connection.
  7. It's saying "C sixty-four", like the C64, unless you're talking about the echoey section before the beat starts. If that's what you're referring to, then I have no clue.
  8. Crazy Comets!!! YES!!! This mix is FANTASTIC. I never dreamed of putting Kraftwerk and Hubbard together. I can honestly say that I am very pleasantly surprised. Very nicely done. I sure hope this means a lengthy wave of C64/128 remixes here.
  9. While it may be true that this sticks to the original pieces almost exactly, I don't think that's a bad thing AT ALL. I simply love the great transition from the title theme to the Brinstar theme at 1:52-1:56. Very nice use of offsetting the snare from the one piece into the next. I LOVE that kinda thing. I will agree with SuperGreenX about the cymbal samples, though. They don't fit very well with the rest of the quality samples in this mix. Outstanding mix!
  10. I loved this remix, but I tend to agree with DJPretzel about the key change at 1'31". It kinda broadsided me. The other key changes were led into nicely. Overall I really dug this remix. This is almost exactly how I would envision a modern remake to sound like. Kudos!
