"After listening to the Skies of Arcadia OST, I decided to go with Vyse's theme because I thought it would work well as an orchestral rock arrangement, similar to my previous arrangement of music from Super Smash Bros. Melee. After a few iterations, and with some helpful feedback from other contributors to the album, I think it turned out pretty well in the end."
The kick is certainly meaty, and at points the timing feels a smidge unsteady, but overall the mojo & inertia give this mix wings & keep it aloft, with some epic, larger-than-life energy at play. Album director Darkflamewolf writes:
"Sbeast was one of the first to sign onboard, since he originally tried to start an all-metal remix album of his own for the Skies of Arcadia soundtrack. Sadly, it did not pan out, but he was excited to hear another attempt was made at this endeavor and was one of the first people finished. Like his proposed project, he submitted his metal take on Vyse's theme which was our first taste for what was to come for the remainder of the album. His fantastically energetic contribution set the stage for what our expectations were to be for the remainder of the remixers who would sign on. Thank you, Sbeast, for setting the bar for the rest to follow!"
I kinda-sorta knew this beforehand, but Arcadia Legends has reinforced for me just how devoted fans of this game are, and how inspired they are by its worlds, characters, & music, many years later. Sbeast had that dedication & passion before this album even got started, and he was an early catalyst for getting things off the ground with some powerful, high-impact work. This is the fourth featured mix we've posted from Scott, each from a different album, and he always injects energy & power into each project; this is no exception. Great stuff!

@Sbeast was one of the first to sign onto the album and one of the first completed. He had originally started up his own Metal-only album for the SoA soundtrack, but it unfortunately didn't gain much ground and wallowed in obscurity. I didn't really seek him out (to my recollection ), and he in fact sought me out once it was clear we were signing on remixers for the album. He adamantly wanted the Vyse Theme since he had claimed that track for his own metal album and wanted to at least see his vision of the piece realized in some public form. I admired his passion and loved his enthusiasm for the source material.
Since I was unaware of his capabilities as a remixer, unlike @Deedubs, where I knew what I was getting into when I sought him out, I was curious to see what sort of track we'd be receiving. I was very pleased and being a metal fan myself, ecstatic at what SBeast delivered. Delivered around the same time as Deedubs and a few other early bird remixers, they laid the groundwork for what my expectations should be as a director on what sort of quality I needed to be enforcing for tracks on this album. It was this shining example that helped me decide on using a few judges and their graciously offered time to help polish and improve 90% of the songs submitted to the project. Thank you again, @Sbeast, and many others in trusting me with your work.
