Skies of Arcadia OC ReMix Project Album - "Arcadia Legends"

Hi everybody! I'm looking for somebody who is willing to record some metal guitar for my remix of "Final Battle". Currently, I'm in the refinement phase of the remix, in which I'm using Shreddage II for my lead guitar sound. It's a great sample library, BUT, my current sequencing skills only go so far and I'd really love to give the lead guitar part that extra edge by having it played live. If anybody here is down to help me out or knows somebody I should contact, feel free to send me a message!
  2. Never in my life would I expect to hear a vocal rendition of the Crazy Bus music. I am forever enlightened. Seriously, though, this is so fun to listen to.

FFXII PC: Original OST or Reorchestrated? that I have actually listened through some of the re-orchestrated soundtrack, I have to agree. Some of the samples, like the strings, solo trumpet, and some woodwind instruments, sound incredible, while other samples are REALLY lacking. On top of that, the mixing and orchestration issues in places break the experience quite a bit for me. It's disappointing, but man, I couldn't imagine having to re-orchestrate nearly 6 hours of music.

FFXII PC: Original OST or Reorchestrated?

Ooh, this has me hyped. I love the soundtrack to the original FFXII release but some of those samples, particularly the trumpet and french horns, were iffy at times. Samples have improved so much since 2006. I can't wait to hear the rest of the re-orchestrated soundtrack. "Streets of Rabanastre" and the final boss music are some of my all-time favorites.

Awesome trailer. Everything sounds great and I'm really diggin' the artwork. That's so cool that they showed this at MAGFest!
  6. Claymates. Made it to the final boss for the first time ever. Died immediately. Surprise! That was my last life. There's no continue system. There's no password system that even a game like Bubsy was kind enough to provide. Cute little kid's game Claymates does not forgive. All that hard work was gone. I lost my last life at the final boss. The moment I saw "game over", I rage quit, which for me as a 5- or 6-year-old kid consisted of throwing the SNES controller to the floor, walking away and crying. I don't believe I have touched the game since. Makes me wonder what might have happened had I ever played the original Battletoads at that age.
  7. Phew! Finally finished up the remix and submitted it to the judges. Thank you to everybody who provided feedback in these last few months. It was greatly appreciated!
  8. Thank you again, @Rozovian for the thorough feedback. The woodwind has been especially difficult to get to behave and I've been considering doing away with it and either 1) record myself on flugelhorn, or 2) ask one of my colleagues if they'd be willing to record soprano sax for me assuming they have a good recording set up. The other issues mentioned wouldn't surprise me at all and I plan to spend some quality time going over some mixing fundamentals again once I finally submit this track. And thank you to @Uffe von Lauterbach and @Light_of_Aether for the kind words. Due to, among other things, job stuff, trying to finish up an album, working on a new hobby, and, admittedly, laziness, this remix has been on the back burner quite a bit. I feel inspired to get back at it once I have free time this week.
  9. Alright, it took me forever to get around to fixing up this arrangement. I got a little distracted in the last month. The evaluation was much appreciated, @Rozovian. Here is my 2nd revision: Some of the major changes I can name off the top of my head: - Went through and changed the (Cinematic Strings 2) full strings patch I was using for chords and separated it out into separate string patches (Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, etc.) so everything there should sound more natural. - Changed the bass guitar patch to a different one that I think blends in a little better and hopefully sounds less fake - Dialed back the compression on the master track - Worked on the hierarchy in the buildup and the louder section afterwards starting from 2:49 - Added a couple of counter-melodic cello lines
  10. Thank you @Smooth4lyfe1987 and @Ridiculously Garrett for the feedback. I really appreciate it! It will certainly help me get this remix into much better shape for submission! I, myself, was actually surprised with how well the ending chord worked out considering it contains a D#, E, F, F#, A#, and B, but they're all spaced out it such a way so they don't seem to clash with each other. I'm not exactly sure how the chord would officially be categorized. That part of my music theory education seems to elude me currently. Here's the chord, with the F notated as an E# for consistency: Originally, I was calling it an E Major 13 (#11) chord with a b9 added up top, but I figured it's just easier to call it an F# Major 7 chord stacked on top of an E Major 7 chord. I'm a sucker for thick chords
  11. I went ahead and made some revisions based off of my concerns listed in my previous post, so I'm going to go ahead and mark this as ready for review:
  12. Hi, everyone. Aside from a few entries on one of the ongoing album projects, It's been too long since I last submitted any remixes to OCRemix. I'm looking to change that. Here is a rough draft of a remix of Midna's Theme and Boss Defeated tracks from Zelda: Twilight Princess: Rough Draft: 1st Revision: 2nd Revision: Original tracks: A few particular things I'm looking for feedback on are: 1. The transition at 0:42. My aim was to create the feeling of suddenly waking up from a dream, but is the transition too abrupt? 2. Is the arrangement too conservative? 3. From 2:48-3:28 does the mixing get too crowded as more instruments are added? That has been a weakness of mine in past tracks. If there are any other issues with the track, I would most certainly love to hear feedback on them. I know the english horn sounds a bit wonky and I've been working at it to tighten it up, but sometimes it feels like CineWinds has a mind of its own. Thank you for listening!
  13. Love it. Beautifully done. I was definitely getting some pleasant Gustav-Holst's-Venus vibes with that lush, yet slightly unsettling feeling in that first couple of minutes.

Skies of Arcadia OC ReMix Project Album - "Arcadia Legends"

Sure, I'm down. I don't have any crucial projects happening at the moment so other than work, rehearsals, and a few upcoming family gatherings, I'm pretty much free. Never collaborated before so I'll see what I can contribute to help get @Supercoolmike's track rolling.
