  1. I was shooting for--walking in to a majestic, magnificent city from the bleak, troublesome world, and having your weariness washed away by awe.

I was very happy to read this. I always like it when a ReMix is linked to a certain mental image that the artist tries to build musically. In this particular exemple I though the job was done very nicely. Altough it wasn't the imagery that firstly came into my mind when I first listened, the song fits that description perfectly. Lindo.

The intro deserves praise for it's originality and because it doesn't sound gratuitos, it rather builds up very nicely to the main body of the song. And I LOVE that piano sample shift.

  2. Hell finally, its been ages since Tepid told me he had submitted this.

Linda música. The beat, the bass, and the piano are all sequenced very well, acoustic guitar is - as usual - very nice, but I hate the tone of the eletric one, I also think the solo around 2:06 could be better.

Pixietricks vocals are excellent, I do wish they played a bigger part on the song, tough.

    Very nice collab, guys.

  3. I remember when I downloaded this track back at the beginning of the year. I couldn't stop listening to it. Bloody great guitar play LuIzA. One other track I'd like to mention of LuIzA's is the one she did with Ashane, Cessation of Mammon (is that LuIzA's vocals in that song?? Would make djp happy). Perhaps maybe it'll make its way onto OCR one day, you can catch it on the DoD site though.

As far as I am concerned, Cessation of Mammon was never finished, which is pretty unfortunate.

  4. ed]Well, we agreed on no more that 2/3 characters from one series. Personally, I feel uneasy about the fact that we have both Lavos and Magus. But, there was a point where we had ~6 FF bosses. Too many. That, and the fact that voting started two weeks ago. Too, late, sorry.

No worries, theres always the possibility of coming up with a Volume 2 a year later

  5. You guys do outstanding collab works. I have to mirror what djp said about this. It's so smooth and perfectly put together that it's pretty much impossible to tell who did what on this song.

That's because I was kidnapped by an evil organization and infused with Malcos cells to use some of his awesomeness. DJP is spelling my name wrongly, it is K'aio.

Wait, is this the right fighting game?

  6. More album art...

And Hello, by the way, I'm am indeed new here (long-time lurker, but never posted untill now etc etc..) but I've been anticipating this project for a long time and one day I just had a sudden urge to load up Illustrator and make blue-sphere-special-stage-themed album art for it (I did it a while ago actually, but never got around to posting it untill now). So here it is. I think it turned out pretty decent.. but really it's my first true attempt at album art so it could just be the newbie in me calling out and telling me it looks good when it really doesn't. :)

If anyone really is interested in this Album art, though, please let me know and I'll take it to the next step and clean it up, finalize it, and set it up in the proper dimensions/resolution (I realize it's way off the way it is right now). It's all been created from scratch through Illustrator so doing that should be a breeze. I'd also, of course, be willing to impliment any suggestions or criticism anyone might have. Of course, if no one likes it at all then I could also just quietly back away and return to my reclusive watch over the happenings of this forum and probably never be seen or heard from again

Danny B didn't do Ending Credits.

  7. Little "story behind the music" moment:

This is my third attempt to remix Chun-Li’s Theme. My previous two arrangements were also destined to Shael Riley’s “Blood on The Asphalt”. The first one was actually pretty bad and died along with my old hard drive (lost lots of fun stuff there). After that I though the track would certainly be taken and remixed by someone else, but it remained free, so I went and tackled it a second time, which turned out to be a quite decent effort (I owe loads to this project, I improved a lot awhile working on it), however, it was messy and, in a very specific way, not following the genre lines Shael established, so I ended up dropping the track a second time. By that time, Malcos was already banging the project like mad, he had already done Balrog, Dhalsim and started remixing Cammy (another track with quite a background). After a while he mentioned he wanted to collab with someone on it and I stepped forth. In the meantime, for whatever reason, I started writing a third arrangement of the Chun-Li’s theme (ok, a like the source, sorry), which was coming out much better then the other two, after Malcos took a listen on the WIP we agreed to start sweeping tracks. While he worked on Cammy, I worked on Chun-Li, and so on and so forth, in some sort of musical Tennis. During this period Shael was really busy and almost never available, so I was really hoping he would like the end result. Hopefully, he did.

… or at least I think he did, never really asked actually.

  8. Props for the references to Wind Scene as well.

Wait, what? I definitely missed that one.

    As did I

As did I. I think he's talking about the melody going in runs of 3rds at times possibly. (Which is what the Wind Scene melody is mainly comprised of.)

Sorry, can't take credit for any subliminal references. ^_^ That's luck.

The bit I hear as Wind Scene starts at :42 at goes on for about 10 seconds, so yeah, only vague similarity. Still like it though. :)

To me that sounds like this segment of Frog's Theme.

Yes. It's also the best part of the song.
