  1. I know about Bound Together. Isn't it just music from Mother 2/Earthbound?
  2. I was a little surprised to discover that there aren't any ReMixes of music from Mother (aka Earthbound Zero). Is anyone planning to make any?
  3. I enjoy this track. For some reason, it makes me think of the kind of thing I might hear on a Mexican kids show that I happen to have on on a Saturday morning, possibly while a little hung over.
  4. I'm not sure exactly how I came up with this idea, but I think that it would be fun to hear a hillbilly/bluegrass ReMix of the theme music from Karnov. Hey, if we can get a Hillbilly ReMix of Bubble Bobble music, why not Karnov? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWW38ubG6yg I was a little bit surprised that find that there aren't any Karnov ReMixes. Someone really should do one. (Speaking of Karnov, here's something I found on YouTube that I thought was pretty funny:
  5. A couple of days ago, I was thinking about how someone could probably do a really good piano ReMix of a medley of music from Magic of Scheherazade. Of course, a ReMix of anything from the game would be great. This is a game soundtrack that I've had in my head for about seventeen or eighteen years, so I'd love to hear someone do something good with it. Lately, I've been reading a little bit of Sir Richard Burton's translation of The Arabian Nights, and I sometimes hear the music from this game in my head while I read it. I know that the game has little or nothing to do with the actual Arabian Nights, but I still can't help but think of the title screen music from Magic of Scheherazade as the "theme music" for The Arabian Nights. My more "grown up" side would probably say that the "theme music" for The Arabian Nights is Rimsky-Korsakov's "Scheherazade," but I can't help but associate the music from Magic of Scheherazade with the world of The Arabian Nights.
  6. I would enjoy it if one of the cyberpunks who fights against injustice and corruption every day of their life would do a ReMix of music from Snatcher. I don't care that much which version of Snatcher ReMixes would be based on, and pretty much anything would be ok, but I'd particularly like to hear a good ReMix of the piece that starts at about 7:45 in this video: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=2_S8LiWZepw A ReMix of anything from SD Snatcher would be nice too: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=dKQiw2F-ScQ
  7. I'd love to hear a good surf rock ReMix of the music from the first level of The Guardian Legend (it starts at about 0:35 in this video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKvXQwwmoBY
  8. I would really like to hear someone do a ReMix of music from this game since it's one of my favorite NES soundtracks. I'd particularly like to hear a good ReMix of the piece that starts at 3:09 in this video: While we're on the subject, does anyone have any information on the composer for this game? All that I can find is that the music is by a concert pianist named "Kume." Does anyone know where more of his/her work can be found? Did "Kume" score any of the other Culture Brain NES games? Some of them have somewhat similar-sounding music, but I can't tell if they were scored by the same composer or not.
  9. I'll second all of the positive comments that others have made about this track. This is one of the first pieces of music that I found on this site that really impressed me and showed me that the quality of music here goes way beyond "novelty" techno remixes of old Nintendo music. Someone really needs to hire Select Start to write the score for a horror movie.
  10. I like this a lot, it has kind of an outer-space feel to it, especially that synth pad at the beginning. It also sounds a bit like something from an anime movie or show scored by Yoko Kanno or someone else (I've really gotten hooked on her music for Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex lately). A nice piece of chill-out music. I enjoy discovering good remixes of music from games I never played, I was pretty much a Nintendo kid all the way, so I never really discoverd the Phantasy Star games (I remember my curiousity being piqued by things I that I read about them in VG magazines).
