OK, now it doesn't matter anymore because Silas chose "Keen-edged Blade", which is listed and so far unclaimed. I expect great things from him, I just love real recorded instruments

I like your rules addition very much, maybe I will pick up another song after finishing my first one. But it leaves one question open. If someome who is not yet listed wants to do a remix for the project and everything is taken already, what happens then? Edit: WIP 2 of my contribution here

Maybe I didn't explain it good enough, so I'll try it again OK, what I was referring to is that having to scroll horizontally is an absolute no-no for web design. Never, ever should a page need to scroll to the right to see everything on it. Many lucky people nowadays use 1024x768 or even higher (like mine, 1280 x 854, like you see on my screen shots) as their screen resolution, but to put it simple: Not everyone can. There is still a significant amount of people who use 800x600, or 832x624, and every good web designer should think about those fellas, as well This means the page contents should not be more than ~740 pixels in width. This is the main issue here, which seems to strike Rexy and surely some others, as well. For me, with my widescreen display, the only problem is the vertical scrolling, that is induced on the main page by using a table that puts the buttons below the big banner at the top. That means, only half of the vertical space is left for the buttons, which should be on the left side, preferably centered. If you look closely at the test site I made and posted in my last forum post, you will notice that the buttons are left of the big banner, and centered vertically against the whole content. This means you don't have to scroll down on a smaller resolution and don't have to scroll at all on mine. Maybe it would just help to resize the huge banner to a little bit smaller size, so everything would fit better. In my opinion, it literally kills the rest of the page because it's so big. That doesn't mean I don't like it. I think it's really beautifully designed, but just a tid bit too big OK, hope now everyone understands what I mean - and btw. if you would incorporate the design I gave you, you should divide the left side of the table in two vertical pieces, the top one which contains the buttons with a fixed size, so the buttons don't get too low when you incorporate a longer text or other contents on the right side which are very scrolling-intensive

OK, I tried it in Safari as well, now...and it's exactly the same. I made some screenshots and posted them here to show what I was talking about. Look at the respective scroll bar's status to the right, especially on the banner site! OK, in Safari it's just Okay on the main site, I don't have to scroll down (maybe you changed something) but I was also referring to the fact that the navigation starts below the banner. You could make the whole page look more pleasant and symmetric without frames, just by using invisible tables (with border=0). I just made a quickie with a visible table where you can see how I mean it, just look here.

just wondering... are the navigational buttons really so far down on the page or is it just my browser? It's kinda weird because I have to scroll down to see them all, and in addition I am able to scroll way~yyy more down without seeing anyhting below the page's contents. This is really strange... If this is intended, you might want to redesign it so the buttons already start to the left of the big banner image. You can do this in a quite easy way by incorporating tables. If you are confused now, I like to offer my help Oh yeah, and btw. if you want you can use the uppermost animated banner of my gallery for that page, as well (It's the one with just the project's title, with animated purple flames in the background that doesn't link anywhere)
-
Oh yeah, these are very beautiful banners indeed! Fit the theme very nicely, as well. So I guess I don't need to do any more of them Nevertheless, I updated my little gallery of banners for those of you who want to add flash banners to their homepages. Enjoy!

OK, here is a short WIP of my contribution Oh, and btw: I still haven't heard anything from my pal at the SAE who wanted to join, but I guess he's busy finding a recording studio room (that's what he was doing the whole day today, I think) I think I will hear from him tomorrow, or at least monday or tuesday.

I love "Harmonious Moment" a lot, too, and would also do a mix of it, but it's not here, so no mix, I guess Anyway... I updated my banner page once again and made a new flash (and GIF) banner for you. And, I managed to recruit someone for the project. It's a good friend of mine who studies Audio Engineer together with me. He is a drummer and guitarist and mostly likes jazz, funk, hip hop and in general chill-out music. I sent him the songs that are left to remix today and am just waiting for his answer
-
No Flash, eh? This makes things difficult. For now I just rendered an animated GIF with 16 colors that looks totally inferior, consumes 6 times the space and runs at half the framerate in a smaller size :vomit: You can get it at my Banner page (URL same as in previous posts). I have to come up with something different, I guess... Edit: But the flash can be put on any homepage of yours, or even bigger sites!

Is there no HTML possible? I could explain it if HTML works. I haven't tried it myself yet, though... I, for myself haven't used one of them in my sig because it would be pretty pointless, because I only have posted here in this thread *lol*
-
Of course I will update them, as soon as I get my hands on the real name of the Project. Oh yeah, and I apologize to all of you in case someone of you thought I wanted to take Lea's place or something like that. I didn't intend to do so - just want to help out where I can
-
Strange...when did he write that? Did I miss something? I never saw a post written by him regarding that. Edit: Oh, now I've seen it on page 5 of the thread, right at the end. Yeah, I read it a bit too late, I guess *lol* Must have overread it...and in a similar way most of the folks here appear to have overread my post with the URL to the gallery. But nevertheless, I wouldn't have offered to do it if I wouldn't be proficient enough in the graphics business, as well. The three thingies that are on the page are quickly done ones, just for everyone to already "have something". I can do much more refined graphics work, but if it just gets rejected, where's the point in doing it in the first place? So I will wait for an official reply now and offer everyone to view the little gallery of banners I created (without knowing the actual project's name, but still able to change the text on all of them within 5 minutes' time). What else would I have to say? uhm.. oh yeah, "Joah!" ^-^

Just wondering if anyone read my last post here on the forum (*NOT* the Mario Paint one ). Maybe there went something wrong with it, but as it looks like it has been ignored by everyone here. In case you don't know what's it about, it's about some first banners and buttons I made for the project so far. ...just felt a bit ignored
-
Here we go! These are just some first tries... Comments welcome, updates coming soon...

Of course I can change the name in the banner, it's just a string after all But what is the project's current name? Just "Tales of Phantasia/Symphonia ReMix Project"? I guess that's a really lame name, and way too long. Lots of people I know call it the "Tales Project" but that doesn't state it's about VGM and ReMixes. But I think that doesn't matter for now, I will use that expression until someone comes up with something better Any better ideas?

I will take care of a few banners for the project. I will post you the URL once I have something to show you
-
And now I got my G3 to work with an older version of the emulator, and here it is. Sadly, Mario Paint doesn't allow me to do the full song because of its length restriction
-
Wow, that Mario Paint version is just hilarious! Sadly I can't use the fake Mario Paint app you gave me, because I own Macs and on Virtual PC it runs too stuttery, at least with my version. I know the newer versions are much better, but I will try to run the actual Mario Paint on my old PowerMac G3. I could run it with full mouse control on a self-made SNES9X version there! *lol* This thread is almost more about Mario Paint than the actual project by now!
-
I can't get my emulator running right with the mouse. Mouse movement works, but mouse clicking doesn't And my real SNES is a thousand kilometres away from here... Let's hope someone else does a decent MP remix Oh yeah, and I can guarantee that not all the remixes will be crazy death metal screaming tracks *lol* At least mine will be a solo piano arrangement. Oh yeah, and btw. if anyone of you needs piano in their mixes, please contact me, and I see what I can do for you. I already have some collab experience so it should not be a big problem

I'm here now, too...just registered to the forums and read up the whole thread *lol* The Mario Paint part was the best in my opinion, I should try to make the Iselia theme with MP, as well *lol*
