  1. I will reiterate in part my audio review of Jessica Jones, partially redacted for work purposes, and transcribed into text form:

"Jessica Jones! Poor man's 50 Shades of Gray; I can't afford to read, I don't buy books! But I'll subscribe to Netflix..."

    What?

Poor man's 50 shades of gray indeed.

  2. Not really. Lucasfilm and Disney have had a strong partnership for many years. If I'd been asked what company Lucas would be willing to sell his pride and joy to, Disney would've been my first guess.

Personally, with the Star Wars EU post-RotJ pretty fleshed out, it would be cool if the new movies were actually prequels, taking place during the Old Republic. I guess we'll see.

Oh, they already have enough Old Republic stuff around. Especially since EA pretty much destroyed it.

I hear that Episode 7 will be a totally original Star Wars movie.

No Thrawn Trilogy here folks. Get your hankies and commit seppeku with your lightsabers now.

  3. Just so you guys know, i'm not trying to twist peoples words or single anyone out here. Sorry if I came off as a bit antaganistic there, that wasn't my goal. All i'm saying is give people the benefit of the doubt if there is room for it :)

I'm sure anyone who doesn't put in an entry has a good reason. Its not worth worrying about. It sucks but it happens.

It's just been too long since I've heard some Willrockage and you usually clean shop in the compo so I was really looking forward to hearing 4 or so new songs.

    SUCKS MAN.

You hurt mah feelins, mah butt feelins

  4. Whoever gets Boomer Kuwanger, you best do it big and make it better than the Maverick Rising track because that one is off the chain.

Good luck to everyone. I will be watching this compo hawk style.

Also, Clown Man, someone put it in their mix regardless.

Edit: Just saw the completed draft listing.

Wildfire... *Alan Rickman voice* Do not disappoint me.

  5. I know that it came so suddenly, but my mental health has become really messed up. It's gotten to the point that I'm A) either seeking for attention, or B) feeling so low that I can't do anything at all. And I tried to get counselling for it in the past month, but I was refused due to lack of general interest on the part of the organisers.

Say what you like about my moves being dickish, but in regards to my mental attitudes throughout the compo, I'm back to square one - the person so afraid that they'd stumble early. I never really gave the post much thought until randomly reading through the mix's posts a couple of months back, so I don't really see it as an ambition per se, but just a complete missed opportunity.

All I want is a resolution for this problem, other than 'not taking part in compos again', which I know for sure is a given. I'm not saying that Amph wasn't at all the right person to win - in fact, he certainly fought his way through. But the hostility throughout the compo really took its toll and brought me down with it.

I'm still going to keep a hold of a handful of the songs from this compo, as a reminder of the amount of fun I had doing the whole thing. It's not going to change my moodset, but it's my way of acknowledging how well it came through on a musical level at least. You all did well... and in many, many cases, musically better than me :(

Please tell me this is some kind of elaborate joke post concocted in order to get me to nerd rage.

  6. Seconded. I hope it's not sabotage or something childish like that. Kind of wanted to put some money down for it.

Well the good thing about this is if it does get taken down, all the backers just keep their money as kickstarter doesnt officially take any money until the end of the 30 day period. Essentially all the 'money' that had been raised thus far were just good faith investments, so to speak.

Clearly everyone who puts their money forth will probably allow kickstarter to take the funds from them after the 30 days (I am skeptical about the 2 $5K donors though).

The bad side is that if it were taken down for whatever reason, that just sets OCR back that much further on physical production of the FF6 album.

I guess the official OCR fundraiser just got rehired :P

  7. Maybe so, but no matter what I'll still be remembering this stage as Lucavi versus the World. :-P

I definitrly enjoyed the music making component of the contest, and the support both in and out of the community has been neat. :-) But in the end, I can't see myself doing another tourney style compo of this caliber for the sake of my mental health. I do still want to make mashups like this, so what would be the best suggestion for the future?

That probably might have been the stupidest question I ever asked o.o

    THE WORLD!

Also, you know exactly what mash-up to do to make me happy. Crisis City vs Planet Wisp. Chop chop.

  8. Hey, I have a question. Comp is over for the most part but I was wondering something. Was Doomsday Zone a legit choose able zone for the competition?

I'm thinking about sources picked and I'm surprised that some were picked in favor of the more popular ones.

I'm really shocked that no one chose Flying Battery.

  9. I know the rapping is a little fast & unclear for everyone (though much clearer than my last track's vocals), but I have to give him some major props for the vocals - he did these in an evening, then sent me edits the night before submission when I asked. He really pulled through with the rap, so he gets major props from me.

Oh, when you put it in that context then, yes, he did a very good job. I, too, give the king of tigers props.

  10. OK that's enough. Seriously take this offline please.

Sorry SupX, I apologize for any inconvenience and the issue has been hopefully taken care of.

    As for remix reviews:

Amphibious: I just love the overall feel of the mix and SupX pretty much hit every nail on the head. This song is just good ol' electronica fun.

Gario: The backing music is fantastic but I feel that the beat seemed a bit too fast for the rapping sections. It sounded like King Tiger was slurring the words along and it was really hard for me to get a grasp on what he was saying on my initial listen. Other than that, it was pretty solid.

Edit: Gario, I'd like to see you revisit your mix and fix it up and get it subbed to the judges. Same for Amph. I totally think they would pass.
