  1. Earlier I would've said Cloud, but now that I've played Bioshock.... ...DEFINITELY Sander Cohen. I swear they based that whole character (he's a psychotic composer) off of me, it's almost as if they're quoting me line for line!
  2. Oh, and instruments sounds like it'd be hella fun - I play a little keys, but maybe I could bring my classical-flute too.... or my melodica Also someone please hook me up with a room so's I don't have to stay with Fusion D:
  3. See? I knew they'd live on. Count me in, only thing stopping me would be if I end up moving out west first. Or if I find myself in a noob-factory.
  4. Also, lol @ people who thought I won a physical trailer at E3. (how would I even take it home? )
  5. Hah wow, that's... actually one of the highest compliments I've ever gotten for music! I just hope I luck out and get more work writing for this game, it has a really inspiring setting and "world". I even liked the cheesy voiceover, which most people seem to hate for some reason
  6. Thanks guys! BTW here's an alternate link, some people haven't been able to get it at gamespot for whatever reason - http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/85660.html
  7. Hah awesome, thanks for the kind words! (and the blog post! I now have a new publicity manager ) Oddly enough, Dead Worm in a Puddle Remix *EXISTS* - www.myspace.com/summetimes And yeah, for the record, Atma taught me everything I know. (about pleasuring the ladies)
  8. Nah, just the trailer - Sascha Dikiciyan is doing the ingame music (http://www.myspace.com/sonicmayhemmusic). They sorta just randomly called me up one night and asked if I could do it in a week... took me a while to convince myself that they didn't call the wrong number by accident But anyways, they are releasing monthly updates to the game, so there might be some slim hope of them asking me to do more stuff... who knows. Keep your fingers crossed!!
  9. Hey guys, some of you remember I was being kinda secretive earlier about a gig I got scoring a trailer for E3... well here it is: http://www.gamespot.com/video/927136/6175430/hellgate-london-official-trailer-12 Hope you enjoy! Greets to everyone from the Philly/DC meetups - Will
  10. Shariq one of these days I'm gonna buy you a USB mic < / brokenrecord > Hah I can't get over that DJP Wiibowling GIF!!! Could we please have some LENSFLARE with that??
  11. kekekeke <3 that was so much fun though, next time I'm bringing my flute and/or melodica. And maybe a new leash for taucer
  12. Wow, super-late notice but, I'm definitely down if there's an extra ticket left! I dunno if it's too late but can I get a ride with you Esca? (I left pm's) (if not, the bus is around the corner so it's cool) (And I have a place to stay for the night either way) BTW I had a chance to visit Andy earlier tonight, he seems to be doing pretty good.
  13. Here's the CreateDigitalMusic interview: http://createdigitalmusic.com/2007/06/20/interview-indie-sample-library-impactsteels-developer-wilbert-roget-ii/
  14. Yeah, uh... ....Dead worm in a puddle. http://www.rogetmusic.com/temp/Ian_Hubert-Dead_Worm_in_a_Puddle.mp3 That is all.

  16. Dude why would you take the train?? Take the friggen Chinatown bus, man! Two hours, $15!! https://www.apexbus.com/BuyTicket.aspx?from=1&to=3
  17. Hey guys - I'm pleased to announce that Impact: Steel is now available for Giga 3! (Kontakt 1 and Halion 3 formats coming soon too) Also, I was interviewed by CreateDigitalMusic.com in an article that will talk about what goes into sample development, my inspiration for Impact: Steel, and so on. I'll post the link as soon as it goes online!
  18. Final count on who's staying overnight? Jordan how many people can you take in? Also are we having lunch at South Street? It'd be cool to go there so we can have an actual philly experience this time instead of just walking around aimlessly
  19. Oh we can/should totally take some of the stuff out, I was just listing possibilities so we don't end up aimlessly standing around wondering what to do like last time But for example, the arcade is in the opposite direction from everything, and we could just go straight over to south street and eat lunch there instead of eating at the gallery's food court. We'd still go down there to get tokens (and visit comic folks?) though, but yeah we can totally x out the arcade and even olde city. If we really want some arcade-ish funtimez, one of y'all can bring your Wii and some games, I can bring my gamebridge and some PS2 stuff, and we can play on two screens at once over at Andy's (his TV and his comp). Any Wii-having volunteers? And who needs to stay somewhere overnight?
  20. Ah true! Maybe we could keep it simple and meet at the same place as last time, on the western side near 15th and Market street (opposite the giant clothespin). Or, we can be cool and meet in the center, and pretend like it's a gateway to four different worlds in the center of the universe!!!
  21. Hey y'all, so here's my idea - We can congregate at city hall, it's super easy to find if you weren't here last time (I can go over directions later). So far it's looking like we'd start off at 12 noon, wait half an hour or so for people to show up, then head off. Our first stop could be the gallery, which is kinda like an underground mall sorta thing. We'd just walk there, and along the way we can get SEPTA (our subway/bus system) tokens/daypasses from the transit store. If hungry ---> Eat at food court. We can also meet up with the Wizard World folks, it's just around the corner at the convention center. Maybe you guys could catch lunch with us? After that we can take the subway down to Old City, which is kind of like the historical district and stuff. Supposedly the oldest continually-inhabited area in the country, they apparently have yearly reenactments and open houses etc. It's a fun area to explore, and we can walk around to see stuff like the Liberty Bell, Ben Franklin's house, etc. There's also a Dave & Busters arcade over on 325 Columbus, it's not terribly far of a walk north from Old City. And from there, we can walk+bus over to South Street. It's kind of the fun / touristy center of Philly, and that's where we'll be forcefeeding you guys cheesesteaks and water ice. There's tons of cool shops there, especially if you're into weird bizarre morally-questionable stuff (like leather! ). There's also a big poster shop and other fun stuff. I reiterate, leather! Any other ideas? And does everyone know how to get to City Hall?
  22. Nope! The demos specified as being "dry" have no reverb or processing whatsoever. That's the advantage of recording and sampling in 24-bit, from what I've experienced - things mix so much easier, and the I:S samples just "fit" really naturally in both small/acoustic and large orchestral mixes.
  23. Hey Compy, thanks for checkin' it out! Glad you liked the demos About the flanging in the Clang Ensemble, it's intentional and added in realtime within Kontakt. I liked the way that it altered the tone, especially in context. But, of course, you can always remove it from the effects rack. I haven't heard any complaints about it from customers yet (in fact it seems to be a favorite so far!), but in the event that people want something like that changed, I've set up an Impact: Steel forum on the site where people can post suggestions and I can upload updated patches. It's a sample library developed by a composer for composers, so I understand how different people can have wildly different tastes for stuff. And well about the pricing, you are right that there's lots of other percussion libraries out there. What sets Impact: Steel apart though is that it has a unique soundset with over 70 different articulations, recorded in 24-bit and with up to 9 velocities and 3 round robin variations per hit. In fact, I own most of the libraries you've mentioned, and have used their metal hits extensively in my film scores before... but the fact that they weren't very multisampled or usable as individual instruments (as opposed to just sound menus) is why I recorded Impact: Steel in the first place. And in addition to just the hits, you also get several banks of evocative sweeps, textures, and giant hits. It's diverse but remains within the scope of a metallic sound world. So my final thought? If you're looking for a general "survey" experience with percussive sounds, I'd strongly recommend Stormdrum or TrueStrike-2 / Stormdrum-2 (once they finally release it ). They're several times more expensive, but they're full of tons and tons of diverse material across the board. However, if you're looking for something unique and evocative, and are attracted to shiny objects like I am, give Impact: Steel a shot.
  24. Thanks a bunch!!! (and sorry for the incorrect forumage, I suck at the internet sometimes )
  25. Hey guys, I was wondering if there was some way to connect my PS2 to my computer's monitor? It's a Samsung SyncMaster 931b and has a digital port in addition to the typical analog monitor port. I also considered getting a TV tuner card, but supposedly that might have a lot of lag? Any thoughts? Thanks!
