because it makes you feel good that you accomplished something challenging, especially if your friends are also trying to accomplish them too no recognition for something that is supposed to get recognition (an achievement) is frustrating

its because some of them are incredibly difficult and the first time getting its fun but after that its just annoying (i know some people who got the real deal and then it got wiped)

For those who want guest passes, join this steam group and post a comment requesting a pass. There are plenty of people who have some so you should definitely get one. If anyone HAS any guest passes to hand out, post here so we know. In other news, this game has gotten 2 much needed patches already. The release notes are as follows: PATCH NOTES - Shattered Horizon 1.0.1.2 ----------------------------------------- Added Frames Per Second-counter, press F4 to toggle on/off Memory allocation improved Ambient Occlusion set off as default Fixed: Strange behaviour of astronauts during end round fadeout Fixed: Incorrect '<team> selected' voice in team selection screen Fixed: Rare bug of grenades flying through walls Fixed: Bugs in visual settings (AO and post processing was not always saved) Fixed: Rare crash bug ('scene manager not found') SERVER ----------------------------------------- Added team-killer auto-kick Memory allocation improved Cyclops achievement is now achievable PATCH NOTES - Shattered Horizon 1.0.2.3 ----------------------------------------- NEW CONTROL OPTIONS Each grenade type can now be assigned to a separate quick-select key. "Roll left" and "Roll right" can now be assigned to individual keys. You can adjust the roll speed when rolling with keys. While you are rolling with keys the mouse is completely free to aim. Both the mouse and the individual keys can be used to roll in-game, you don't have to choose between them so are free to use different roll methods depending on which you prefer for each situation. Help screens and FPS-counter controls can now be bound to different keys in the controls menu. Added mouse wheel support to controls. GAME CHANGES The color of the EMP lightning effect on players has been changed from blue to white. This change is to reduce confusion when MCC (yellow) players are EMPed. The EMP particle effect however is still blue and will be changed in a future update. When typing a message using in-game chat, a history of all in-game chat messages will appear. The text will disappear automatically after a short time. BUG FIXES Firing the weapon in silent running mode now plays the correct muffled audio. Fixed a rare bug that caused rendering to freeze while the game continued running. Fixed an occasional issue that resulted in a player spawning into a level with too much speed. Fixed an issue with shadows initializing incorrectly, which could cause aliased sharp edges. Fixed a bug with in-game chat where lines of text could appear on top of each other. Fixed a bug that allowed in-game chat to be used while in silent running mode. And there are already plans for the first content pack, which will include 4 new maps, which I think is really what this game needs. The 4 maps included in the game are good but really a little more would be great. There is no planned release date for the pack but the people that preordered the game will be able to playtest them starting this week.

yeah on my second runthrough of dark carnival we were on advanced and doing the gnome thing and on like our 7th try of the finale we finally got to the rescue and we put the gnome where we all thought it was gonna show up and it was on the other side and we died trolled by helicopter speaking of trolls not only was that achievement incredibly difficult to get on advanced MY ACHIEVEMENTS RESET WHAT ABOUT YOU YES I AM MAD

im sure some are bad id just like to try them all once i tried vector and it was actually really interesting and fun although there were a lot of chokepoints -

i seriously doubt youll get a full game on there since its neither the main or secondary ocr server its just as easy to create a listen server on one of the maps and noclip around to see what it looks like id (and im sure paranoid and others) would be much more interested to see how they play on a full server -

i complained that there were way too many ones that we never play, and are poorly made which is the case there WERE, though, a couple customs that were fun to play on occasion (i never cared for waste which we played a lot) for example i enjoy a few rounds of frontier or freight here and there i have no idea why you continue to host all those maps, as really if you look at the stats of even when we only had one server there are plenty that we havent played in a very, very long time whenever i used to try customs on my server, if we didnt like it, i immediately deleted it it was good because there were never a ton of maps to cycle through and the couple of customs that we enjoyed playing were the only ones on the server thats why id say try all of these and then afterwards see if we really like a few of them and then keep those and delete the rest why not trim it anyways i highly doubt server 2 will see any action outside of the occasional events so why not just trim the maplist down to a minimum (by minimum i mean like 5-10 maps) and put them on server 1 so we can play 95% stock maps but on occasion a decent custom to mix things up -

im not sure how populated itd be if it was on the second server (being that many more regulars have the main server ip than the other one), but itd be neat if for a night we could play through all these maps http://www.teamfortress.com/post.php?id=3130 -
they are inexpensive in that its the same price as a console so you dont have an excuse to "buy a console because it is cheaper"
