    PERSONAL COMMENTS

    Well, here you have it folks! The drum sampling and quality at it's finest! Unfortunately I can't say the same about that marimba or whatever that xylophone sounding instrument is.... It sounds too electronic for this style. Also the synth at :30 is a bit out of place IMO... You have this jungle beach sound going on and it makes the song awkward...

    Was that slight distortion I was hearing? The instruments sounded a bit loud, you might either want to turn those down a bit or use a soft compressor on them...

    When I listened to the song as a whole, I loved it! Only beef I have for overall sound was that I didn't hear as many instrument and dynamic changes as I would have liked. This made the song slightly repetitive... But other than that, you got me hooked! Excellent song choice, Jun Senoue would be proud!

    Sonic the Hedgehog - Scrap Brain Zone

    Brain Scrambler

    I always wanted to be one of the first to create a Goa remix. I tried in the past and failed... But now I venture out to try again! This time I hope to accomplish that which seemed unreasonable!

    The song is a remix of the Scrap Brain Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog. As I've said before, I am a hardcore Sonic fan, and I feel it's time for me to give a little more than I have to homage Sonic.

    The song is *suppost to be* Goa, a type of fast Trance.

    UPDATE HISTORY:

    Initial update: Released an alpha version.

    Update 2: Beta released.

    Update 3: Response update. Also changed the kick, bass, and snare to be more Goa-ish.

    Update 4: Added some more variation, also fixed some EQ mud.

    Update 5: Added timpani similar to the source, but in an original way. Nearing final update!

    Final Update: Put some finishing touches, fine tuned the effects, and tweeked the master. Wish me luck when I submit this!

    Hi - this WIP has forced me to emerge from lurkdom, damn you!

    I'm currently listening to this (English Version) through laptop speakers so to comment on production issues would be unwise until my mega headphones of great audio quality are applied to this, however, as far as the arrangement goes I am very happy.

    It is a bit of a strange mix of styles, very OCReMix. I really like it though and think the arrangement hangs together well. Perhaps the length should be shortened somewhat as it becomes a little repetitive towards the end.

    Sonic Adventure - Theme of "Tikal"

    Tikal's Sacrifice

    Sonic Adventure has always been host of one of my most favorite OSTs. I got a Dreamcast just for this game. I have always been a big Sonic fan and probably will always be one. The remix is the theme from one of the NP characters in the game, Tikal. She is most seen as the guidance ball of light you see hanging around in the levels. She only makes her appearance during the Chaos flashbacks. I decided to go with a Tribal Trance style as it seem to fit the most.

    UPDATE HISTORY:

    Initial update: Released an alpha version.

    Update 2: Finished the beta version.

    Update 3: Fixed some sound problems and added some more.

    Update 4: Released an English version.

    Update 5: Corrected the Japanese translation (It was jibberish before...)

    Update 6: Changed the last section to remove the repetitiveness. Lyrics updated.

    This doesn't sit right with me at all... Sure I hear the melody going on, but for the most part it sounds like it's playing on it's own, doesn't match the chordline you got going on...

    I also kinda want to hear some more variation with the bass. Drums too, they tend to get repetitive in some spots...

    Just my 2 cents...

    The Up and Coming Remixer's Project

    Starting a new thread for this.

    Ladies and gentlemen, introducing a project like none other. Sound of Super Sonic has completely wiped itself clean with a new angle. This is a project meant for new ReMixers. The goal? A project that new remixers can finally join and really hone their skills on.

    Experienced remixers can join, but please keep in mind that while this project's main mission is to showcase the OST of the series, it's also meant to give a leg up for those new to the remixing community and would really like to make something of themselves.

    Requirements

    Tetris Megamix for Next High Level Run Video

    Alright, I'm going to be making another Tetris high level run video but this time for the GB version. While I'm brushing up on my GB Tetris skills, I'm going to be making another remix for the video, this time a megamix of all the songs from the GB version.

    Here is my first WIP, I only have A & B, but plan to include C later.
