  1. about Jacob's Ladder: I thought the chemical stuff really did happen, but I guess it's just as likely to be real as Jezebel. Random SH2 theory: I don't believe Laura is real. I believe James created her to help him search for Mary. When he starts to give up a little, she pushes him forward.
  2. I'm not sure I would like it if it weren't for the video game connection. I probably would still like it since I like horror movies. People seem to keep saying that only horror & game fans can enjoy this movie, but I don't see that as being a bad thing. I am a horror & game fan and I do enjoy this movie. I'm not a fan of war-films, but that doesn't make all war-films intrinsically bad. Anyway, things I liked in the movie were things I already liked from the games and without them the movie might have little left over. I doubt there will be a "perfect" game->film conversion of anything ever. Unless money is not a factor; but money is always a factor. The people with the money aren't the artists, and if they were, they'd probably have some "vision" to shape the product into. Like what? The rebirth connection? Or the side-characters introduced in it? How rich the family owning that mansion was? I've recently been reading theories about Xuchilbara & Lobsel Vith ex: Xuchilbara = Valtiel = rebirth = butterflies = Maria stuff like that. I think the sub-scenario just cements some theories about Maria. Unless there's more to it.
  3. myf, I could be wrong, but I think it's "I'll Kill You" - SH1 OST track 22 Edit: That could be it, too. I don't remember now. But they're both great tracks anyway. "Dance With Night Wind" has a good piano part and "I'll Kill You" has really cool drums.
  4. Too bad you can't read the one in the game.
  5. Nulion, do you understand that the Book of Lost Memories is an actual book? http://www.translatedmemories.com/
  6. "I am the reaper" is out of context, but still just doesn't seem right at all... but that shouldn't be a surprise. When stories switch media (game->movie) they tend to be set in alternate universes. I believe this is usually because different people get involved in the creative process when someone new is paying the bills.
  7. I've been doing music for more than 7 years. I started playing bass over 6 years ago and I can play chords on the bass just fine. There's nothing special about lower frequencies that stops chords from being chords. (but to answer your question: I can sortof play guitar and I'm learning piano) I guess I'll try the slowmo wav trick next time I run into this problem. Thanks guys.
  8. When I'm trying to learn a song by ear, I usually listen to the song and try to play along with an instrument until I get it to sound right. But sometimes I have trouble differentiating notes. For example: when playing along with a song on my bass, I might have trouble telling if I should be playing D# or E. Usually just playing the song by myself helps me figure it out, but not always. Sometimes my two versions sound almost right and I won't be able to tell which one works. I'm not tone deaf, I just need to work on my relative pitch. Sometimes I find humming helps... What do you guys do when there are no midis, tabs or sheets to help you out?
  9. I'm already a Chopin fan. His etudes are great. My favourite being "Etude in C minor Op.25 No.12". I don't know how to manage my time, so piano isn't high on my priority list, but I might pick up that Hanon book. Thanks everyone-who-responded.
  10. Thanks for the link, Ross Kmet. Galbadia Hotel has some sheets. I got the prelude there (from FFVII). The beggining of the prelude is easy, and then it gets a little more complicated. Last summer I had a friend teaching me how to read. My weak reading skills are slowing me down, but I already know basic music theory. I've played bass for about 6 years, so I'm new to the piano, not music.
  11. I'm starting to teach myself piano, and I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions as to some videogame songs that might be easy to learn. Right now I'm guessing that the final fantasy prelude will be simple to play.
  12. Does anybody know the name of the song that plays in that video "The Loneliness of Pyramid Head"?
  13. Hello. I'm new to the forums, but I've been watching ocremix.org for a long time. I decided to register for the boards since I've finally got a mix in the works.
