"At the moment"? Hasn't it been over a year at this point? Well, whatever. Kirbymixer, you're on. Wow. 2 Signed on, on the same page of the thread. Now we're making some progress.
-
You got an audition? PM me one of your works, Ill listen, then (hopefully) you get on. If you don't have any work, well... we can work something out.
-
You got it, chief.
-
Yeesh. I guess I did go a little over-the-top there. But, I dunno. I just get a kinda peeved by that stuff. But, no harm done. I just hope that that one little comment doesn't kill this whole thread. The Koelsch1, if you've been keeping up, I did say that I want to do a jazz album, if this ones as much of a succes as I hope. Ill keep you in the back of my head for now.

"That's cool Rexy" "i definately agree with Rexy" "I agree with Rexy" ...you know, sexism work both ways. Its a shame that someone gets respect because they have a different anatomy than you, and not their remixing skills, or anything that pertains to the site we're on. If a judge, or another famous mixer was here, I guarantee HE wouldn't get anywhere near that respect. No offense, Rexy. It's not that you don't deserve it, its just that, to me, it seems like you're getting it for the wrong reason. soooooooooooooo........, with that all said and done. Avaris, anyone can post anything here. Bumps, ReMixes, why they didn't get their math homework in on time, or what color their underwear is (blue). Now, I'm on dial up (but my whole county's getting free wi-fi soon!). If The Koelsch's music is as good as you say it is, maybe he'd like to join. If someone can tell me in the next 5 hours if his music is good (like I said, dial-up). Otherwise, by then, I'll find out myself. If you want to join in at all, that is.

Well, whatever. Its just that, redoing OWA wouldnt result in anything new. I mean sure, you could do it in samba, or mambo. Maybe in the style of the Beach Boys? Or, howabout 50 Cent? You could have someone yodel the latin, or maybe a country-western ballade. But, 2/3's fine. I just dont want to end up with something thats already been heard. ...actually, some of those don't sound too bad.

...Sad to say Manji's out. He's busy, and gonna be for a long while. Which means Sephiroth's Theme is up for grabs. Let me point out, as I said before, that Seph's got three themes. Birth of a God Those Chosen by the Planet One-Winged Angel Now, beacause OWA has been redone several times, for things like Advent Children, Kingdom Hearts, and FF7 albums, it has been decided that One-Winged Angel Cannot Be Done Alone! Whoever ends up with Sephiroth needs to know that all 3 themes must be present.

1st WIPs due by November 19th. For those of you who couldn't tell, thats the North American Wii release date. Sorry, but thanks you for playing, drop by again soon. And theres no way I would have given you that 5 anyway. Now go. Go write music. Write like the wind.

Why does everyone think I didn't PM enough people? I sent messages out to, maybe 20 people, and double that to 40 when you count what Kanjika sent out. And, Bowser? Of course he's gonna be rock. If there is any track that expresses the following idea, it's gonna be this one; A good site project shouldn't be distinguishable from the Genres of music featured within. Bowser's gonna rock. Hard. "Bowser is Pissed"? Nowhere near what I want that track to be. Don't get me wrong, it was good; one of my favorites. But, thats more like a stepping stone onto where this track is. The crowning piece of this album, everyone knows who Bowser is. Starting off with a short bit of final bowser's theme from Mario 64, dark, slow, and maybe a little drugged-out and warped around. Speeds up, into another very short bit of a darker version of the boss music from Sunshine. The main body of the ReMix would be Bowser's theme in 64. Not Koopa's Road, but the on ewhen you actually fight him. Then, I think, using the SMB castle theme for a while, do something with that. Throw the SMW Koopa kids in for a very short while. Finish with "Final Bowser" from 64. Now, I'm no music expert (And, yet, I'm the coordinator). I mean, it sounds good in my head, but, for real? I don't know. Opinions? EDIT: I dont know how I could ignore his theme in Yoshi's Island. Thats gotta be in there somewhere. But its seems to crowded, I think.

You know, Avaris brought up something that really hit me, in his PM. I tried mixing. I downloaded fruity loops, and my computer couldnt handle it. That was three months ago, and now school is back. If anyone can reccomend a course of action, and is willing to help me, I'd love to work on one of these tracks. Nobody's gotten Bowser yet, and maybe with the help of a high-end artist, we could collaborate on a kick-ass track, while I learn what the hell im doing in the first place. Anyone know any good artists that might be interested?
-
Sure, send me a PM. Finally, another artist, signed on. ME, not Kanjika. I don't know where that guy's been, but I'm getting worried...
-
Oh, sorry. Your sig made it look like you have a band... Well, either way, thanks!
-
Thanks. I guess there much better than a nervous breakdown to bring in some interesting conversation. And as much as this is jumping the gun, I was considering a CtC2, but as some sort of manager who stays there the whole time, but doesn't really do much. What I really want to see is a Jazz album. In the same style as this one, but with good guys, not bosses. Same style of art, too. The album cover would be Sonic, Mario, and Link playing in a club, maybe the Lon Lon "Milk Bar", in Zelda. Of course, if anyone steals this idea, I'll hunt you down, disembowel you, and feed on your entrails. I just had a mental breakdown, if you've forgotten.

You know, I really, REALLY wish someone had told me about this before we started. It's a shame, really. Over 100 bosses too chose from, and we're stuck with... well, you see what we have up there. I'm thinking, when we make it into General, of re-doing the vote, excluding who we've already got assigned. ...And you know what? Exactly what I thought would happen, has happened. We made those forums, for WIPs and art... we have 4 users signed up. One being me, one being POCKETMAN, and he isn't even doing any music! Wheres the spirit, the enthusiasm? Or maybe we can just sit here and rot. Everyone has said so far this is a good idea, that it was a great concept, and... what do we have to show for it? A stagnating forum, and I'm getting sick of it. Seriously, has anyone else noticed this? Here's DarkeSwords guidelines: "Come up with a concept". Check "Contact artists you want on the project... at least 5". Check "Create a recruitment/interest generation thread in the ReQuests... to tell people about what you want to do and to find people to join". Check When you have around 2/3s of your total tracks assigned to artists, create a new thread in General to officially begin the organization of your project and contact me (DarkeSword). [To] give your project some front page exposure, and potentially attract artists who may not have seen your initial recruitment thread. OK... 11/[25-30]. Thats half to a third of it, but I don't think sitting here is going to get much more done. Tell me, loyal fans, do you think the time is right? To let the world know of our existence, and break the chains of conventional Site Projects? To.. aw, whatever... And, two things I noticed on the front page. V___ and watkinzez both expressed interest, but never chose tracks. Are either of you listening? Where have you been the past three months? Humans and Gears. Now, I don't have anything against them. We have our way of doing things, they have theirs. But, I know someone who started to call them sister projects, because we were the last two projects before about 5 others decided to start something up. If they over there are listening, I would be honored to have a sister project, and with that, the knowledge that, at any given time, we both have a place to lean on if our projects ever run into trouble, be it with the mixes, the art, the OCR community, or whatever. Are you listening, rpggamer180? Avaris? What do you think? *sigh*... wow, that took a lot outta me. Anyone who says TLDR gets a kick in the ass.

Hey, buddy. You had your chance months ago. Now isn't the time to be complaining. Although, I can say thanks for a milestone. After months of time here in ReQuests, building up, and getting done what we need to get done, we finally have our first negative comment, aimed directly at the project itself. There you have it, folks. We're officially a project. Thanks, ambient01.
-
Well, the least we can do is show some appreciatiion to those who have contributed. And, I take back something I saiid earlier about only WIPs. Go ahead and post art, too! [sarcasm] w00t, and all that... [/sarcasm]
-
You know, there was a point where I cared about stuff. We were gonna do some stuff first, but I need this project to move faster. Here you go. Go nuts, folks, you earned it. I ONLY want this forum to post WIPs. I dont want to rely on it for now. JUST WIPS!!!
-
Should I just log in, and you can make me an admin? I can't beleive I just asked that about my own project...
-
Why, do you know where we can get our own forum? Kanjika and I were talking about this earlier, but I guess now would be a good time to do it. ... where is that guy, anyway?
-
Sure, anything constructive. We were talking about new character designs earlier, maybe there are some suggestions? Also, I was thinking about bundling some wallpaper into the Torrent when the whole thing was done. The only one I can think of so far is parodying the "Dogs Playing Poker" art, with five or six of the villians not featured on the album art. Gary Oak, Wolf O'Donnel, you get it. So, yeah. Go ahead, post away.
-
I've got to be honest here, I think we've hit a wall. The discusion is barely helping the project at most times, and no news concerning the tracks or artists themselves has come up in a while. So, whats the next step? Its too early to ask for a move to general. I can't think of any other artists to contact, for the most part. And it isn't like there is anything I can personally do to help along the mixes to move faster. I don't know what to do next. Any suggestions, or should we just sit and wait?
-
-DJP, the FAQ, right here.I guess I misread that one. I guess not too many remixes with 2+ games are out there, most different games might be hard to mix like that. They'd have to be similar in style, or from the same series to really make it work. ... or someone could prove me wrong?
-
We could always just leave it. Nigga Stole My Yoshi. Y'know, Rexy, it's too bad OCR doesn't take music from multiple games. I smell a crossover. I mean, Mario has been in golf, tennis, soccer, baseball, basketball, he's been a doctor, plumber, carpenter, typing instructor, boxing refer..., uhh... nevermind
-
We already said, that's one of the liberties the artist gets to choose from. If a boss has multiple tracks, they can pick one, or work several together.
-
Well, I get your point, but get what I'm saying. Bowser is one of the most well known bosses around. Personally, I would feel disappointed if his track wasn't something you could mosh to. I wouldn't want to restrict anyone, but the album has to have the right balance between rock and orchestra. Have you watched Advent Children, or listened to the soundtrack? Go, go out and listen to "Advent: One-Winged Angel". Perfect balance of the two. From what I've heard, none of the music on OCR (that I can find) has the same feel and intensity. Thats what this album is all about. Blood, sweat, and tears should go into your work. This music isn't yours, its not the composer's. It belongs to their respective characters, and we need to represent those characters properly. Bowser is known for his balance between chaos, darkness, and comedy. The music should correspond. Sephiroth has an aura of seriousness and evil. He strikes fear into those around him, while at the same time attracting a huge fanbase for his mannerisms. The music should, again, follow the model of the character it is based upon. Thats a keyword. Intense. It's not just music, this album has to be an experience. Not just "cool, our albums done. We have some fans.", but "Wow! That track was great! I cant wait to hear the rest of the album!" EDIT: Yeah, Andross, huh? Go ahead, if you can get a WIP to me soon, or rather, an audition track, maybe? And, going with what's on the front post, maybe making Starwolf's theme into part of it. Like I said, try to keep within rock/orch, anything with seriousness to it.
