  1. So just outta curiousity, how many of those of you who already have a DS actually plan to buy a DS Lite?
  2. I never played a game Strider was in besides Marvel Vs Capcom...but I do think it'd be kinda fun with Lloyd (I really enjoyed ToS). I am kinda curious how open companies like Namco would be to selling rights to a character like him... I don't really think it'd be a good idea, but it'd be funny to have Leon from Resident Evil 4 . It'd just be ridiculous . Clarification: you don't sell the rights to Nintendo, you grant the permission to use the character in one game, like Nintendo gave permission to Square-Enix to make Super Mario RPG (which is why Geno and Mallow probably won't show, since they're SE characters... though it would be really, really cool). Also, for sheer ridiculous out-of-placeness, Solid Snake already fits the bill. Grant permission for money . I'd be really suprised if there wasn't an exchange of money to get him in there. So I don't think it's as simple as you're making it sound. Seems like not only do the companies need to be willing to whore out their characters, but the price would need to be right. I agree Snake came outta left field to be in SSBB. That reminds me of http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?.

  4. Personally, I'm a proponent of the 2nd choice you presented there. It'd be too much to have like 3-4 characters from Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, etc. They should make it more exclusive, since no one wants to play as Slippy for example. I wouldn't like it if they put in *significantly* more characters in SSBB than in SSBM, though pretty much no matter what I'm gonna buy it.
  5. I'm not gonna point out any obvious masturbations jokes...
  6. Nope, anything DK related is Nintendo's, including DKC. Anything created by Rareware associated with Donkey Kong or Starfox became the property of Nintendo, even if Rare moved elsewhere. So characters like K. Rool and Krystal are totally viable for SSBB, and I comletely expect to see them... Meh, they already have Fox and Falco...they don't need Krystal too IMO. That'd be terrible, having Krystal in SSBB...who's next? Slippy? lol
  7. That's awesome. Sounds like the DS will be getting some really awesome games soon. I'm excited for the DS' future
  8. (Double post) http://media.ds.ign.com/media/707/707320/vids_1.html w00t. This is a game I'm looking forward to, especially after playing the GBA remakes of FF1, 2, and 4.
  9. Yeah. And while several genres seem to work really well with the wii-mote (especially FPS, of course ), fighting games aren't one of them. There'd be nothing intuitive about it. I'm sure everyone was relieved when they announced it wasn't gonna use the wii-mote.
  10. Interesting...I'm gonna keep looking forward to it lol. I dunno about the rest of you but I'm personally looking really forward to Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I know a lot of people bitched about the cell-shaded art style, but I still liked Wind Waker (oh, AND despite the damn sailing). I guess the nice thing about PH is that it's gonna cut out the part of the sailing that made it bad: navigation. Just plotting the points on the map will streamline and make it not feel like work IMO . At any rate though, I'm gonna be picking up that title since it just looks like fun.
  11. I definitely agree, but I'm really interested in seeing how Snake plays (I've never really played much MGS, so I dunno much about Snake in general ). Zero Suit Samus doesn't interest me as much, but I like that they'll have at least a 2nd option if someone wants to play a Metroid character (yeah, I know, same person but prob different play mechanics). As much as I'd like some other Metroid character to be in there (like Ridley) but I unfortunately don't see that working too well (he's gonna be quite a bit bigger than Bowser, so...). Ah well...I bet whoever that other character in Metroid Prime 3's trailer will be playable too.
  12. I have NEVER once seen a female Megaman. Watch Captain N: The Gamemaster then. You say that like it's a bad thing...Though, from what I've heard, it probably is... Mouser X out. It is. Considering they had an ugly GREEN midget Megaman to begin with(With a visor too for some fucked up reason), and their form of a female Megaman was pink with blonde hair. Also, there's no need to sign your posts. That's what your signature's for. Hmm...pics? Yeah, http://media.ds.ign.com/media/794/794195/imgs_1.html. It looks like it'll shape up to be a decent Megaman game IMO. It has its own unique features, like the whole "biometal" things. Supposedly the story will be told via voiceacting and anime clips (which is nice in a way, so there's hopefully no stupid slideshow "animations" like in Megaman X5). But hell, a side-scrolling Megaman game is always welcome to me, just because I've been a fan of the gameplay since the orignal MM game came out. Also, I'm really interested in Contact. I read about it in Nintendo Power, but for some reason they didn't seem to have anything on it on ign. It sounds like an innovative RPG, created by Grasshopper (the studio that made Killer 7) and Atlus (the studio that made Trauma Center). One other game I'm looking forward to is Final Fantasy 3. I'm not a huge fan of a lot of the more recent FF games (ESPECIALLY FF12), but I loved FF1, 2, and 4 for the GBA and FF3 looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun too. Too bad there wasn't all that much news about it at E3 .
  13. I'm not sure what your logic is here...is it that if they let one Square-Enix, Castlevania, or Megaman character in they'd have to let them all in? I'm assuming you're actually saying something like if they let one in, people would get pissed cuz they didn't put their favorite character in too. I dunno man, that still doesn't make sense to me. Maybe I'm just being naive, but I'd think that a fan of FF, Castlevania, or Megaman games would be glad to just have one character representing their favorite series in SSBB and not be bitchy about not having "Cloud" or "Zero" in it. I guess it's all kind of a moot point anyhow, seeing as how companies like Square-Enix might not even be willing to whore out their characters .
  14. Doing main theme /= score. He did the same thing for Final Fantasy 12, so expect Hirokazu Ando to return for the rest. Oh, I musta misread. I thought I had read somewhere it wasn't just the main theme he was doing, but all the music for the game. I stand corrected though lol.
  15. Yeah, on IGN they have the option to either stream the trailer or dl the trailer (the dl'able version off to the side of the vid thumbnail). Here's a link for quicker reference http://media.revolution.ign.com/media/748/748545/vids_1.html I'm really excited about Pit being in the game too. I hope this is gonna lead to Kid Icarus Wii (so far I haven't heard any official Nintendo news about it). Pit is really due to star in his own game again anyhow IMO.
  16. That assumption is indeed fact. Oh ok, I guess that'd make sense. Ah well. Still, it'd be cool to have Crono in there...I mean, Chrono Trigger was originally a game on the SNES after all (though I'm sure Square-Enix wouldn't be in favor of whoring out their characters without ridiculous sums of money ).
  17. I dunno if this has already been discussed here or not, but I wonder if by having Nobuo Uematsu doing the score for SSBB if that also hints at Square-Enix's willingness to sell the rights to use well-know Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest characters. I'm not a huge fan of the FF series, but I think it'd be cool to have Cloud, Barret, Tidus, or even Sora to join the fray (especially Sora ). Better yet, Crono from Chrono Trigger!
  18. not a bad choice, but i think it needs someone else ever more, and im not sure if anyone has said it yet but, Viewtiful Joe. He's getting his own sort of party smash game, isn't he? Or has he already gotten it? I haven't played the series since I fully completed the first one. Yeah, the game came out already. Anyways, I found on a different forum that found that the castle level was from FE:POR, so we may see the character from the game. The flag is supposed to be the emblem of one the nations there. Dunno. Check out the pic below, the black symbol w/ red background is the closest thing in Fire Emblem on Gamecube to the one there. If you look at the two closely, the one from SSBB looks like it could be a more stylized version of the Daein symbol...skewed a little. Well, I just hope that's an indicator of having either Ike or Titania in SSBB . Hell, who among us even played a Fire Emblem with Marth or Roy in it? I didn't really care much about FE until I played the GC version, but was the FE that Marth was in even available outside of Japan? As for Roy, he was in a GBA FE right? Anyone know the answer to these?
