  1. You know, I have always had a bias against King DeDeDe since I've played Kirby Superstar. You have now kindled the fumes of prejudice that I have against DeDeDe. I have seen a tier list saying that Deed was a top-tier character, if I am not mistaken, but... well, maybe he's only good against certain people because I've seen him get whooped so many times it isn't even funny. In fact, some kid tried to use him against my Sonic... I never got hit + I wasn't that good.

Who is Deed good against? Slow characters? Little weak ones that aren't fast? I'll look online to see how and when he wins.

Simply said, practice makes perfect. I forgot Wolf's rank on the tier list, but I liked using him a lot (seems to be good + it actually takes skill to use him). Basically a stronger-yet-slower fox; brings that pain, and his style makes up for his lack of speed.

My theory called "Cancellation": There is this rule about certain characters not being able to beat others (unless somebody sucks). I don't know if I saw an impossible situation in your circumstance (i.e. Fox vs Mewtwo (Melee), which I've heard it's possible to beat Fox with Mewtwo, but with a very hard-to-do method), but for the most part, there are those few who just cannot beat certain characters (even if "just cannot" = 90-99.9% chance).

I found it funny that every time someone uses C . Falcon against Mewtwo (and only if you're good with Mewtwo because being horrible w/ Mewtwo = give up), the result is ROFL. You would think that C. Falcon would dominate b/c of his speed and strength, but he becomes predictable. His cancel isn't that fast (correct me if I am wrong), he has no projectile moves, jumps suck, tends to be open a lot (defense isn't as good as Fox, Sheik, Marth or Falco, the top-tier characters for Melee), and as a result, he ends up being whooped the same way a normal pokemon (we're going back, y'all!) would be challenged and / or canceled out by a psychic.

Quit, spamming, n00b(!): C. Falcon's moves have to be mastered. I know a friend who loves him ("Show your moves" taunting everytime he knocks you away), but he (skill-lessly and unnecessarily) spams his B-moves. Who the hell does that? I know that he can combo well with his B-moves, but his A-moves, like most other characters (or any character, really), gets the job done.

Note to ALL noobs: B moves are specials, whether or not they are killing moves. Even if they are killing moves, they do not get the job done 100% of the time.

Question: I know that the Master Hand is in Brawl, but what about the Crazy Hand? Are there any more new top villians? On a side note, I remember when I first played both hands and couldn't win. Not a problem now, depending on what character I use.

Jam: Yeah, Roy is slower, and I knew off-the-back that his recovery sucked in comparison to Marth. He runs fast, but his moves are more slowly anticipated.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh lord. Where do you begin with this post?

  2. It's funny when game companies release a strategy guide with their multiplayer games. Within months, it sounds like a newb's advice. They developers know nothing about the metagame before it is released, and yet, still fancy themselves as the best players there could be. I mean, there were strategy guides for StarCraft, SSB, and SSBM

  3. Last summer, just for kicks, I actually leveled Mario all the way to 30 only in Mushroom way. Basically, the first chance I got to cap out, I did it there. Before even following Toad to Mushroom Kingdom.

It got sooooooo monotonous. It would take about an hour to level up near the end IIRC. It was awesome to trash Mac in a couple of hits. It was also funny, because while Mario was capped out, all the other party members would join at their normal levels.

I'm just glad I didn't pursue this goal with FFVII. I'd still be doing it.

Wow, my copy just got pretty valuable to me.

Also, bigger digits are funner, for which I like SMRPG more. It's annoyingly repetitive to deal damage in absolute digits. And starting at one? You gotta be kidding me. It was funner when hoping for a bonus role that would take out a baddie that would normally take two hits.

Debate: Who's cooler? Grubba, or Johnny?

  5. So, how many of you are just playing this for the first time now with Wii VC? Does the game still stand up to today's standards? I bought the game back when it came out and I'm still loving it!

It's my favorite Super Nintendo game. When Square and Nintendo combine their efforts, you either get a cataclysmic explosion or a game like this is produced.

  6. A lot of gamers are bugged by an "incomplete" game. You have to get everything there is to get to discard it on your shelf. It's always annoyed me that I didn't get every blue coin in Super Mario Sunshine, which prevents you from getting every star.

  7. I kinda like the collection aspect of games, altough it loses value when:

A: you absolutely cannot advance in the game unless you collect certain things, but they are way hard to get (example: the DK arcade coin in Donkey Kong 64. I actually had to lend the game to someone else and got them to get the coin for me. Otherwise I would have never finished it, ever.).

B: it becomes a super drag to get that handfull of things you need (like in Brawl.).

C: when you can already finish a game, relatively easy, but there are still many things to collect, which ultimately doesn't add much, because there is nothing left to try your new found stuff on (example: Final Fantasy 12.).

You had to have someone else play those arcade games for you? I'm not gonna say anything to that.

Anyway, the most upsetting thing about collecting, and what it's being ridiculed for here, is when it's random-based. You cannot control which stickers you collect, or rather, which trophies appear for you to get.

It's frustrating to have no choice but to hope to accomplish something in a video game, because that's literally what it boils down to.

Edit: In Melee, at least you could ante more coins in the slot machine to increase your chance of getting a new trophy.

  8. Roy's a bit of a girl herself. I got a question. How do we know that Jigglypuff is a she? It seems to me that every reference to her defines her, like all Pokemon, as an "it." The trophies all say, "It sings..., it can fly, it's light..." Seriously, how do people know she's a girl?

  9. I just noticed that, DAMMIT!!! The happiness that Dragoon brought me has been crushed:cry:. It's either a break or they are making last minute tweaks and don't want to update something that might be updated:P Ma..maybe it's Captain Falcon!!!
That'd be nice. They need an entire week to prepare for the awesome announcement of Captain Falcon. Seriously, I can't wait to see how he looks on this game.
  10. Well, I know for certain that FF7 wasn't the first game to swear. Exile for the Genesis beat it by quite a few years in 1991. It has words like "Damn" and "Ass" in it. Might not be the F-bomb or whatever, but for console gaming in the early 90s, that's quite a step up.

I'm sure there were games before Exile that used at least "Damn", or "Hell".

Megaman X II or III, I don't recall which, has the "Damn" at the end. Megaman goes, "Damn, it's a dead end."
  11. DKC2 is hard to complete?

    Also, so is Sunshine?

'Cause, um, I had no problem with either.

Whoa! Humbled, here. Well actually, I never played DKC II, rather took the word of another guy that it was one of the most difficult games to complete for the SNES. Something about a few of the DK coins being real hard to find.

As for Sunshine, I haven't gotten all the blue coins on any level but Corona Mountain. How many blue coins are there on each conventional level anyway? I'm gonna say thirty...? Seriously, how do you guys do it? How many hours do you have on your files where you've collected every single blue coin? There's just so many random things to try or do that give you them. I can't imagine being able to get them all.

I liked Super Mario Sunshine, a lot. It was fun.

Don't see why you guys say it's so bad.

Bad? Who said it was bad? I may have come across wrong, but personally, I like the difficult games the most.
