  1. Sounds awesome! Can you send me the lyrics? I just want to make sure everything stays on topic and fits with the original lyrics. :-D
Just sent you a PM about the lyrics, though for some weird reason when i checked the message after it sent it's line-broken all the individual bars in to their own paragraphs ...which is annoying and it looks weird. But yes, for the most part, i have sent you the lyrics i've been working on.

Got the flow of them all nicely rehearsed and everything.

  2. My entire life I pictured the vocalist for Sonic R's soundtrack as a sassy black woman. I just found out what she looks like and now I wonder how many other vastly incorrect assumptions I've made.
Oh, TJ Davis? Haha, wow yeah. You were way off with that one! She was a pretty big guest vocalist for bands like Blur and D:Ream here in the UK during the 90's.

But you're not the only one who's had a recent eye-opener like that. I only just found out a few weeks ago that rapper Marky Mark from 'Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch' is actually actor Mark Wahlberg from the 1990's.

And considering my entire existence is drenched in 90's hiphop culture, i'm shocked at myself for not noticing that sooner! D:

But yeah, just to slide this post back on topic. I wrote some really nice lyrics to the track i'm on and i'm very pleased with myself. Tuberz and Halc are being awesome to work with! Very accommodating! :)

  3. DiGi showed this to me earlier and I was pretty much doing internal backflips. :-D
Lol, init, man! When i geek out over something like this i usually blow up the social networks, but with this one i wasn't sure if OCR had announced it themselves yet or not and not wanting to jump the gun like that i had to direct all the excite-barrage directly to your email inbox instead! XD

Aaah, but for real, though. This really is a great thing that OCR are doing.

Not only is it already opening up the library of stuff i listen to but i'm imagining the possibilities on where this could go for the label in the future.

For something like this, i understand why it's invite only, i totally respect that notion too. But i'd be lying if i said it wasn't inspiring me to up my game and get better at what i can do.

    Jheeeez!~♪ XD

Anyways, i'm mummbling now. I want to shout out a big congrats to all those signed to the label and i hope to see OverClocked Records become a huge success. You guys have my support~

  4. Kinda caught this news from someone mentioning it on FaceBook the other day. Had to double-take when i noticed the post said 'Records' instead of 'ReMix'. Then i promptly geeked out like a nerd!

I can't believe it. This was one thing i imagined OverClocked should do some day in the future, i just had no idea the time was now. But i suppose this is probably the best time to make a go of this.

I'm very much in favour of this Record label. This could really be the start of something big and i wish you guys the best with it :)

  5. Figured i'd better drop a quick note in to this to say "i'm still here" :D ...i'll admit, for a brief second i did forget but then Tuberz kindly smacked me upside the face and reminded me. We are definitely doing our track. Also, we got Halc on board with us now too so update that info accordingly when you can, Wildfiyaaaah!!

Oh, also. I'm still all about helping you get the art sorted out for this. Just let me know when you need to start organising that and we'll talk in more detail! :)

-edit- Also, should probably put Tuberz and Halc down as the remixers and they're the ones putting the production in to this, i'm just the rapping man! :D

  6. How about a new preview for making the wait a little... ¿easy? xD
Personally, i would love to get a new preview out to showcase some of the brand new tracks we have in here. That being said though, i'd like to wait just until after the next check-in date at the end of January, just so we can see how far some of the other songs have progressed in production.

It will be something i'll talk over with Level 99 at some point, most definitely :)

  7. You forgot to credit Xenon Odyssey on my track, DiGi :P
Oh, my bad! Sorry. I had no idea, the only name on the file i was given earlier this year just had your name on it.

I shall correct that now. Thanks for letting me know! :)

Actually, this goes for anybody else who see's this list and feels something might be incorrect. Let me know and i'll update it accordingly.

  8. I'm glad I'm actually seeing an updated informational post about this now. Thanks. :)
Yeah, me too, i've been wanting to post this for ages. I'm currently going through the people listed here and getting them all to check in on these new dates we have set in place.

    Plus, having Stevo fully on board this project now means there's someone here to properly bounce feedback and directorial duties with. I was kinda getting lost running around by myself, lol XD;

Anyways, providing nobody drops out we should be heading full steam ahead with this project. I've been assigning and re-assigning tracks since early this year and i'm still not done sorting all that out. All being well, there may be a few little additions to this track listing, if i get it all co-ordinated in time.

  9. VROOM: The Best of SEGA Racing.

Directors: Level 99 & DiGi Valentine

    Deadlines:

    Jan 31st 2014 - First wip check-in date

    April 30th 2014 - Second wip check-in date

    June 30th 2014 - Final WAVS submitted

    Information:

'VROOM: The Best of SEGA Racing' aims to be the best collection of driving tunes imaginable; a collection of ReMixes covering the very best music from SEGA’s Arcade and Home Console Racing heritage.

The remixes featured on this album will be in the vein of reflecting the different types of music one might drive a vehicle to. There can be slow tracks to cruise to, while the more upbeat tracks mirror the feeling of putting your foot to the floor and gunning it. Either way, the aim is to remix these tracks so they give off that 'driving' vibe, out on the road and letting the world zip by around you.

The project was initially envisioned and directed by AkumaJoBelmont back in 2010, but for numerous reasons this ReMix album has traded directorial duties with other people over time and has been pushed back way too much.

Now that the project is in my lap, me and Level 99 will co-direct it to completion and aim to have to have it released.

This new topic has been created because the constant 'starting' and 'halting' of the project has left the original topic full up with out of date information with edits upon re-edits and it's just become too messy to work with. Level 99 and myself have decided it would be better to just close that old topic down and start a new one.

I personally have been very vocal about wanting to see this project completed as we have a great selection of completed tracks and work-in-progresses that are just TOO good to overlook and throw to the wayside. I will be doing my very best as a co-director to run as tight a ship as possible and finally see this project to its release day.

I have the utmost respect for AkumaJoBelmont's (Robbie) vision for the project and wish to try and stay as true to his goals as possible with its direction.

  10. I made an account on OCR just to comment here and express my appreciation for this project, so in short:

Shoutout to everyone who worked on this project. My ears and I thank you.

And a shout out back at ya for signing up here just to say thanks to us! We appreciate it! XD

This was one hell of a project. I feel like how i did when Lucid Dreaming was going through its journey and ended up reaching its release date with no hurdles or major problems at all. Temporal Duality was run just as tightly and neatly, we made release on time ...something which i still can't believe we actually achieved, considering the scope of the project and the amount of people involved.

But just like how the Sonic Zone Competition was run smoothly by Matt did he return and run as smooth a ship for Temporal. Honestly, i really got to hand it to him for keeping this ship running full speed for a year. Never seen a project on this scale make release on time within such a short development window. Great job at keeping us going, dude.

And on all the art stuff, from head hunting the ever expanding sea's of DeviantArt (lol) to finding TheSmai on a random skip through Tumblr, it was an absolute pleasure to discuss the art direction and see the pieces go through their development stages. I'm the kinda guy who just loves nice art attached to great music and i'm so happy to not only have found TheSmai when we did but to have had a helping hand in seeing that part of the project through to completion. Such awesome memories have been made for me, here.

    It's been one fantastic journey.

    See you, next game ~

  11. Rexy has the right idea. Bringing a bunch of physical copies to a convention or an event and they just fly off the table, people lap that up real quick. Usually asking you to sign the covers and everything, lol! XD

But yes, i think Level 99 is a good person to speak to about this. He handled the whole of Lucid Dreaming so he knows way more about the process than i do. Maybe he can give you some insight in to it all for you to consider.

I can't remember how much he paid for pressing up Lucid, though.

Anyways, do keep us posted on what you decide to do, Matt. Even if it's months from now, let me know. I want to make sure that if we do ever do this i want Sonic Team to end up with a bunch of these :)

  12. then I think we'll all need to be having an extra 10-11 drinks ;-)
Two for me, i can be quite the drunk arse! :D

    Changing the subject real quick.

SupX, are we definitely not getting CD's pressed up for this? I know i enquired with you before but i've been asked by some Sonic fans now if a physical release will ever happen regarding this?

I know it comes out of your/our own pockets if we did do this so i know why we can't, but i just wanted to check in one last time to confirm it.

Furthermore, if we do decide to attempt at pressing this up at some point down the line, i can definitely get copies out to Sonic Team for us too. No doubt about that.

Just wanted to throw this out here too :)

  13. The BMI registration for Hard Times lists only Bruce Connole as writer/composer.
o_O woah! Now that is interesting. Thanks for providing that info. I'm pretty sure that if Buxer himself had been involved in writing Hard Times it would be credited and listed accordingly. I guess it must mean Buxer had access to all of the unreleased material from The Jetzons whether he wrote any of it or not. I can't figure out how else MJ would have wound up with it all otherwise.

Anyways, thanks for digging that up! Great work. (i didn't even think to check BMI's registrations, lol).

He likely wants to be let alone until he's either a) ready or B) legally authorized.
Yeah, i would imagine it's probably the former option. He always seemed to prefer being the background guy out of the lime light, never doing many interviews, even way back in the day when MJ was in his prime and doing loads of interviews. I guess if he wasn't allowed to talk about it he wouldn't have answered the questions relating to MJ's involvement with Sonic 3 in that interview a few years ago.

I know after MJ passed away, Buxer did pop up and do a few interviews like the one i've been mentioning. And about a year ago he and Michael Prince (another person who used to work with MJ) were talking about trying to release some of MJ's material though i don't think it came to pass.

There's a tweet that Mr. Prince had posted about it, showing Buxer and himself.

Aside from that, Brad seems to have gone off the radar again.

But all's fair. If he doesn't want to be found it's probably for a good reason.

I'll still be on the look out for him, regardless. If he pops up again i'll let you cool cats know~

  14. Is there a reason Buxer would've kept it quiet so long?
    Yeah, there is actually.

To put it in a nutshell, he's never played the game nor heard the soundtrack so he doesn't know what was used or what was not.

Let me just grab a link to the interview. Here you go.

Scroll down until you see the yellow Sonic 3 writing, and read that section.

    ..

...man, i would really love to talk to Buxer. Have an interview with him or something. Sit him down and play him the Sonic 3 soundtrack just to see if he recognises anything else in there.

I've tried looking for him on social networks but to no avail :(

If anybody finds this guy online, let me know.

Also. Just another neat little bit of info regarding things being sampled.

The Minor Boss music in Sonic 3, the voice that yells

That was sampled from the beginning of a Robe Base & DJ E-Z Rock track 'Joy & Pain'

Lol, literally lifted the vocal straight out from that track and threw it in to Sonic 3! XD
